We liked that Nice airport is just 1.5 hours from Gatwick, with trams to get us around the city to our hotel, a short and comfortable trip. We enjoyed seeing the old town, cathedral, the sandy beach and walking for miles on the Promenade des Anglais. The old town had interesting shops and a large variety of restaurants. It was lovely to visit the South of France, there was a great atmosphere.

What a lovely place to visit off season.
What a lovely place to visit off season. We opted to stay here for a few days on the way to Marseille for a rugby match at the start of February and we weren’t disappointed. Lots of lovely things to do while simply wandering around the town. Be warned that most museums are closed on Tuesdays while others were temporarily closed for works.

Nice is great, but it's a big city with all the problems that come with big cities, so be very wary of pickpockets especially as you first arrive and may be under pressure with luggage and finding your way. Pickpockets work in teams and may be smartly dressed and have good English and language skills they will offer help at ticket machines etc. BE AWARE I dragged a pickpockets hand out of my wife's bag. That said Nice is a lovely city with many restaurants serving generally very high quality food. Get the card for travelling on the tram network you can load it up on your smartphone.
Wayne's bar very good acoustic set 20.00/22.00 house band after that, Shapko after 22.00 for jazz and drinks, Plenty of restaurant's.
It is easy to visit Cannes, Menton, Villefranche, Antibes, St Rapheal, Monaco, Monte Carlo by train, all these stations place you very close to the towns centre's. Tip, booking easier on the UK Trainline app. Tip, try to avoid travelling back Monaco to Nice direction, between 15.30/17.30 trains are full of workers on daily commute. Fantastic area but don't let a pickpocket spoil it for you.

First impression of Nice was fantastic, starting at the airport. Very clean and modern. We got the tram from the airport as our hotel was a short walk from a stop. We followed others advise to walk to the next tram stop as they do not sell the normal cards at the airport meaning they charge a premium. I would strongly suggest doing your homework on how the tram, card and other transport systems work and once you know then it is great to use. Nice, despite having a small city feel has everything you could ever need. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. it has a really nice vibe and the people on the whole were pleasant and friendly...although they must take their lessons on queueing from the Italians! The whole city stretches along the beach. We went for the carnival which I can whole heartedly recommend, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Another huge advantage of Nice is the connections to other places along the coast such as Menton, Eze and Monte Carlo. We travelled by train and bus. Both are very reasonable and the train was fine with service level and timings. The buses are a bit more hit and miss we regards to timings with some routes only offering a bus every couple of hours.
The only real downside is the traffic.

Carnival, but there is more advertising in winter.

The city is very beautiful because it has everything and you can quickly get from the sea to the mountains.
And it seems like a safe city, although there are many communities in this city that think they traffic anything :(

Walking through Nice is unlike any other city, clean, well maintained, beautifully presented. There is a real sense of pride and a relaxed holiday vibe, particularly along the stunning coast. A walk around the headland to old Nice is highly recommended.
The location of the Hotel was within walking distance to the train station and the main street leading to the beach area/Old Town Nice which was probably a 10 minute walk. The staff were helpful and friendly. The actual bedroom was as expected - not large, but adequate with a nice balcony window. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise! It exceeded my expectation. There were a variety of foods to choose from including a nice assortment of fruit, a pancake maker and also a machine to make fresh orange juice. The coffee was great!
I appreciated the warm welcome by the hostess and that she spoke perfect English. Also there is secure private parking. The room was large and divided into a seating lounge area and a bedroom. The property itself is beautiful with gardens and outdoor seating areas. The breakfast was fantastic and probably the best so far on my trip to France. Everything was beautifully appointed. The hostess even helped me carry my suitcase to the room which doesn't happen very often and was much appreciated at my age.
The rooms were clean and very comfortable, we had a room with a balcony which was lovely to sit out on and watch the world go by. The staff are amazing and very helpful. Esther and Hannah on reception are a credit to this hotel, their customer service, friendliness and proffessionalism were outstanding, even better than any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in.
The location excellent, in city, 10 minute walk down to beach and Nice old town and 5 minutes walk to station.
Love this place, best hotel on my 6 week trip in France. My room was in the turret, felt like a princess. The view and the light were soul lifting.
The location is perfect, especially with the new tram stop close by, either direct to the airport, or to the old port of Lympia which I'm just discovering. Staff and decorations....just cant say enough.
Have to give a shout to Cycle Nice with Mathieu for an incredible history tour of old Nice.
We loved this hotel! First of all it is in a great location super close to everything. You can easily walk to old town Nice or to the train station which we loved. The rooms were very stylish and spacious! We had just came from Paris prior and this room felt very large! The hotel facilities were also nice. We ate at the cocktail bar one night and the food and drinks were tasty for an easy dinner. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
We were only in this hotel for 1 night passing through Nice but it seemed to be in a strategic location in the city between museums and the downtown. The pool looked great but we didn't get to use it. Overall we would recommend this location if staying inside the city of Nice to be in the heart of the city for the urban experience. Would not necessarily recommend if you want to be on the beach.
The room was a good size (not usual for France :), clean, bathroom was also clean and of decent size. Actually, cleanness was the main pro for the hotel. The day manager (lady, I don't remember the name) was really nice and helpful.
Hotel is about 20 min walking distance from the beach and close to the Nice Ville train station.
The hotel is beautiful. The room are spacious enough and the sea view from the 5th floor is stunning, embracing all the Bay of Nice.
The location is excellent too, à stone throw from Rue de France and 10mn from the Old town.
The staff was fantastic, warm, helpful but not overbearing.
We had a magical stay.
The last day in Nice I stayed here. In fact I have booked three different hotels in Nice . Definitely Arome is the one that satisfied me best. It's quieter and more comfortable than the first one and much cheaper than the second one with very nice staffs. If I go to Nice again I will choose here without doubt .
The lobby is nice and the rooftop pool is very cool. They play house music at a low volume which creates a nice vibe. This is why we chose to stay here as there aren’t many hotels with pools in Nice. The pillows and bed were comfortable. The A/C worked well and the shower was nice when it functioned properly.
Very nice and clean room. The breakfast was perfect. The location is next to the train station and close to the old town. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We loved everything in the hotel and had the best time in Nice and the French riviera :)
beautiful quirky hotel in old town
nice perfect for a stroll into the old town and flower market and restaurants has a pool and restaurant and to be honest the beat nights sleep in ages lovely room with gorgeous sea view and the staff were so nice
Staff was very helpful. We had a lot of bags after a long france trip and they helped with everything and arranged us a very early taxi ride the next morning to accomodate all of our luggage. Would definitely recommend and woukd stay here again.
The property was beautiful and well located. The bus is literally infront of the residence. Clementine, the manager of the residence was super helpful and thoughtful! The perfect South of France stay for maximum experience!
Very convenient hotel for a short stay in nice, the rooms are nice and clean although like most of France a bit small but the location is very convenient, short walking distance to all the shops and restaurants.
Brilliant location in Nice Old Town, close to public transport and the beach. I had a great room on the beach and 6th floor the view must be one of the best in Nice, ar night it was amazing.
