With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.
Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.
Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Love Manchester. Lots to do. Think the free bus from the railway station is a fantastic idea and more cities should do this to encourage visitors.
Always love to have Tapas at Evuna, never disappoints.
Lots of choice of shops and places to visit. This trip was to visit the theatre.

It's certainly being spruced up since I was last here.
It's certainly being spruced up since I was last here. Loads of rather formulaic skyscrapers going up. The tram is excellent. Ate at a Harden's recommended tapas place (San Jose??) on a little heated terrace at 4.00 in the afternoon. Good, inexpensive food for two - about five sharing dishes and three v. nice glasses of organic red and a shared pudding for less than £60 is a bargain. Deansgate (we were going to the opera house for a play) was pleasant and not unfriendly. even the few beggars were polite: one who I'd given 50p to when we wandered around at the interval apologised for asking again when he recognised me. Good public relations. This was a Thursday night. No rowdiness.

Chetham Library is a must see!
Amazing food and loads and loads to choose from - we tried Fat Pat's, Gooey (amazing french toast), Indle Hands (amazing coffee) Salive, American Hot Dog. We also went for drinks at Wash House & Science and Industry
The tram system is amazing, you can either get an e-ticket on their Bee network app or tap on/out with your card - regular service, very easy to use (the coloured lines don't mean much but are helpful to see where the tram goes)
We had a lovely walk around seeing the architecture - so varied. People are really nice too and happy to help.

Manchester has style that I love.
Manchester has style that I love. It's not the cleanest place, and certainly isn't picturesque, but it's a "real" place, with a great combination of architecture from its boom in the 19th century, and modern architecture from its recent regeneration - sometimes combined. I went out to Salford Quays - which typify what I've just mentioned - and saw Manchester United play. I also love the Northern Quarter, where I had food and a few beers watching rugby in a pub. Beyond sport, there's a vibrant modern cultural scene and a great variety of shopping. Public transport is great: trams everywhere!
I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past month and will hopefully be returning every time I travel to Manchester. I used to stay at either the Hilton hotels or Premier Inn if I was staying for the whole week due to the price but this hotel just has everything I need, it's nice and clean and the staff are lovely.
There's room service (although I haven't used it yet), the location is ideal with sainsburys and tesco just a short walk away as well as other food stores and the room has such lovely character to it.
This is a stunning hotel from the moment you walk through the door. The decor and attention to detail have been excelled and you can tell everything is bespoke. Every little detail has been thought out even down to a glass of champagne while check in is arranged. Its a beautiful space for any interior lover and the furniture and spaces are stunning. The staff here are probably the best I’ve had in any city centre hotel. If you get the chance to stay it’s a must do in Manchester.
The Hilton hotel Deansgate is the best hotel just few minutes from historic city centre of Manchester & walking distance away from all activities with different tastes.
The great asset of Hilton Deansgate is friendly staffs & great atmosphere. Well done to all staffs 👌
To get panoramic view of Manchester & surrounding countryside is to book the highest floor. Recommended: The 23 floor is must place to visit to get the best view while you are eating your lunch or dinner
Beautiful, clean, modern, contemporary well thought out room with excellent views of Old Trafford, Manchester City Centre and Peak District. Bed was super comfortable with USB / power sockets either side. Lots of storage and desk space. TV was great too. Breakfast very good, staff friendly and attentive. I stay in Manchester a lot and this hotel is excellent value for money and I will definitely say this is the best non spa hotel in Manchester.
The room had great facilities, was clean and had loads of available sockets. Good amount of parking and a separate entrance for hotel guests from the entrance once you checked in. Be mindful if you are checking in at a peak dinner time that you have to walk through the restaurant to check in, we were not well dressed.
Otherwise it's only a ten min walk to the station and a ten min train into Manchester Piccadilly. I'd stay here again 👍
We had a great stay in Manchester. Hotel is situated right in the heart of the city centre, near the turbulent, creative, Northern Quarter, where we spent most of our time. Hotel offers typical Motel One standard, which is definitely over the average. Everything is very stylish and modern. Space in the room is cleverly used. Comfortable bed. Cozy lobby invites for a drink in the evening hours. Fair price.
This hotel is in the best location I could possibly imagine in Manchester! Right in the center of town with tons of stuff nearby and walkable to see! Also it is quite great about fulfilling whatever requests you have, and it's very convenient with the mini fridge and the awesome bathroom! I was staying on a very high floor so also the view was phenomenal!
This is an excellent hotel in a great location.
1 min from Opera House
10 mins from Deansgate station
10 mins from main shops/Arndale centre, Manchester Cathedral.
It is a very modern hotel. The decor was fresh, clean and upbeat.
You could hire an umbrella. There was even a DJ playing music in the evenings.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was very adequate. The bed and the pillows were warm and comfortable and the television was a good size and well located.
Breakfast was excellent, with pleasant and helpful staff. The dining lounge was well located with a lovely view of Manchester City Centre.
The Hotel location was perfect for getting around.
I absolutely loved my stay, rooms were amazing, staff were welcoming and very helpful and polite, the hotel was stunning.I will definitely be back again and again,mr and my partner stay around Manchester and go to different hotels for a little break but this will be our destination from now on,wonderful place.
We went to a gig at the 02 in Manchester so we needed somewhere to stay this was excellent we was upset in wasn't in the heart of the city centre but it worked to our advantage as it nearer the 02 academy no pubs near the hotel but again as it was comfy we went to the shop and had a drink in the room
This hotel is a great value for money; £15 a person got me and my partner a bed and bathroom on the same day as we booked. The main thing we liked was the location - Salford is just a 25 minute tram ride from Manchester city centre, and the tram station is a two-minute walk from the hotel.
Perfect location for the city centre. Room & hotel very luxury for the price. One of the comfiest beds in a hotel I’ve ever stayed in! All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again and recommended to any friends and family going to Manchester :)
Room is spacious and clean. Location is good, a close walk from Manchester Oxford Station. There are plenty of small cafes for a quick easy bite and a convenient store near the hotel.
Will definitely book this hotel again and will recommend it to others.
The rooms were well furnished and the location of the hotel is great for doing some shopping and eating in the heart of Manchester as everything is less than a 20min walk away.
