I have never seen a place so crowded!

I have never seen a place so crowded! (April) Surprisingly, it functions quite well. Metro is unpleasantly full, still the fastest. Buses have better coverage, less crowded but slower Staying in city center helps a lot as you can cover good area by foot. Restaurants are not too crowded. Food below expectations. We enjoyed most the restaurants in Borgo Pio near Vaticane for variety of choices. Watch for Leonardo Express. Italians may have pecular sense of humour- we boarded the train with electronic tickets (30€ for two) but got charged a 128€ penalty because the ticket booked 3 weeks earlier showed exact time of boarding being 15 minutes earlier!!! All this in the city were it is ok to drive through read light. Be careful! All in all it is a memorable experience predominantly thanks to the ancient Romans and Michelangelo.

Rome has a lot to offer, if you love your food you won’t be disappointed. There is so much history to explore and would recommend a guided tour if you can. Getting around is ok and most places are walkable too. It can be very busy in some areas and would recommend using skip the line tickets where you can to save time. Be mindful of asking how much things will cost as it can feel overpriced in some areas. It was my second visit to the city and I was pleased to be able to explore new areas and return to some familiar spots.

Of course everything is so beautiful and the weather is wonderful. What I did not expect was the sheer number of people EVERYWHERE. It's so overcrowded as to almost be not worth visiting. I assumed early April would be okay but there were just masses of people everywhere. If I go again it would be in a month like February or March (well before Easter). Getting around takes some time to figure out and is not for the faint hearted!

    We walked and walked!

We walked and walked! only have 2 days, day one we Walked from our accomodation which worked well, over 12 kms. Day 2, we went Vatican City. The Pope spoke which was exciting but we forfeited our tour which we were looking forward to, as the meeting place description was inadequate and the guide didn’t answer our numerous calls. ALWAYS be certain of meeting points!

It goes without saying that Rome has a lot of history and it was worth seeing in person. A city with an amazing energy. The food was great and if you like pasta and pizza you’ve come to the right place 😆 The sites were at your finger tips with every walk to and from the monuments filled with interesting sights, smells and sounds at every turn. Restaurants and cafes were everywhere but with an annoyance of someone telling you to eat at their establishment every time you tried to view the outside menu 😆 When I return to Rome I will be less accommodating to the persons selling junk bracelets (they’re your best friend until you walk away and they get aggressive or try to make you feel guilty).

The building although found in the old city of Rome, was modern and aesthetically pleasing. The room was spacious and clean and we were also offered water which we could refill from the hotel itself - who doesn’t love a sustainable act? The best part was the breakfast - so delicious and mouthwatering, I’ve never tasted such good breakfast at a hotel in Italy! The food was so genuine and fresh - pure delicacies of Rome! Finally, Erica the receptionist was so sweet and welcoming on our arrival and departure.

The location of this hotel is great, walking distance to Colosseum, Trevi fountain etc. Also close to some good restaurants (Melo, Pizzeria alle Carrette). Dined and had breakfast in the hotel restaurant - excellent staff - good food and value for money. Our room had a lovely view over Rome and was quite spacious. Bed was really comfortable. Staff were very helpful and had really good local knowledge. Had tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge which you don't always get in Italy.

This was the most perfect hotel for my last night in Rome before Italy. The location was fantastic, the staff were amazing and so helpful, the room was gorgeous and I loved having a balcony and the rooftop terrace was heaven and exactly what I pictured for my last night in Roma. I’m so happy I stayed here and the breakfast looked amazing but I just settled for coffee and juice as had to get on a bus. I would absolutely stay here again as I will be back to see Roma as I’m in love with this city!

The location is excellent but unlike many 5 star hotels the staff were fantastic - not at all pretentious or pompous but extremely helpful, polite and very down to earth. We are lucky to have experienced many 5 star hotels around the globe but this is one of the best with great facilities, lovely spa staff and an excellent location too! The bar has an extraordinary manager who spoke super English and was extremely hospitable! We regularly travel to Italy and we will definitely stay here again!

This hotel was my best stay in Italy. It was close to two metro lines and also to the Colosseum (you can literally go walking). The staff was very helpful, my room was large enough for me (individual traveller), every day when I returned the room was made up, everything was clean and they have elevators in case you don't want to use the stairs. The breakfast was simple but very good and I enjoyed very much to eat it every day. I do strongly recommend the hotel if you ever visit Rome.
