    The Medina is too chaotic.

The Medina is too chaotic. Motorbikes are disturbing and represent a source of pollution. It is a city of contrasts. The intense Jamaa el Fna square is close to valuable atractions and beautifull gardens.

    Marrakech was a great city.

Marrakech was a great city. The colors, the culture, the vibe, the weather, the food— you name it, Marrakech had it. It was also quite safe in my opinion. Dislike: overpriced food, articles and other products for tourists. You basically need to negotiate for everything to get the lowest price. Even the lowest price is not as cheap as you’d think! Like: Taxis were quite cheap. (Of course negotiate to get a good price)

We liked walking around the medina and experiencing the every day life of the locals. I can imagine it must get very busy when the tourist season really starts. There is certainly a vibrant feel to whole area and you just need to walk around and get a little lost to appreciate it. Gueliz is the modern area with newer hotels and many restaurants serving cool beers after a long day.

    Wonderful, vibrant city.

Wonderful, vibrant city. We stayed 3 nights which was perfect. Also the weather was good but around 20-24C which was perfect for our visit. The architecture is wonderful and the various palaces amazing! Especially stunning was the Qu'ran school. Also the Jardin Majurelle outside the Medina was well worth a visit. The best part though is just walking around, through the various souks and other parts of the city. The Morrocans are really friendly and helpful - a wonderful people, the only shame being that they are not great animal lovers and some of the poor animals I felt really sorry for.

Marrakech provides quite a cultural and sensory experience.

Marrakech provides quite a cultural and sensory experience. Walking through the souks, smelling the food, hearing the sounds, there is a lot to take in. Go into one of the many riad's and you will be amazed how silent it is inside. Before we left, we read a lot of negative stories, about people trying to "show you the way" and then insisting on being paid. We did not experience anything of this. People were very friendly. We did not have such good experience with the yellow taxis ("petite taxis"). They are supposed to use the meter, but they won't for tourists. We recommend to use the InDrive App (it is the local Uber). We were very pleased with Abdul, who works for InDrive. I have permission to share his What's App number: +212 660881814 . Must see places include: Bahia Palace, Dar El Bacha (the must beautiful palace in Marrakech), Madrassa Ben Youssef. Four days in Marrakech are sufficient, we can recommend going to Essaouira for one night, or spend a night in the dessert.

Great experiences in the souks, loads of bargains, be prepared for a lot of haggling. Traffic in the souks is heavy, people on foot walking in every direction. constantly dodging people. In additon, mor bikes and scooters, donkey carts, all coming past you too. exciting and difficult at the same time. fumes pretty terrible in the narrow lanes in the soukls because of the morbikes and scooters. Jemma al fna square is bustling: snake charmers, monkeys on leashes, living statues, live music, acrobats, you name it. Bahia Palace is really worth a visit.

The decor was traditional but also luxurious and chic. The staff was like family to us almost immediately. They care about their guests more than any place I’ve ever stayed before. They truly will make your trip. Abdel in particular, the manager, will be texting you constantly and making sure you are experiencing Morocco to the fullest. Even after I left he continued to help me with my trip. The rooms were so comfortable, clean, and stylish. My ultimate favorite hotel I’ve stayed at.

This is the best resort hotel in Maramesh no question. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was heavenly, I originally booked for 2 nights and extended to 5 nights because I loved this place so much. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks, and tea time all buffets, were marvelous. I want to come back to Morocco just so I can stay in this palace again. The riad and the staff were absolutely exceptional in every way. The riad is beautiful with a nice pool and dinning room on the ground floor with rooms above and a roof terrace. All the staff just couldn’t do enough for us. We went on to stay at the 5 star Tigmiza hotel and it honestly wasn’t even close to this riad in terms of the service and feel of the the place. Super friendly hosts treating you a lot like the typical Riad hosts throughout Morocco (Marrakesh had less of these good hosts) that have tea and want to invite you into their home. Shared bathroom is only 2 rooms as the other rooms have their own showers. Hot water was nice. They prepared a breakfast for us at 6:30 to take on our trip to the desert, which was very kind of them.

The grounds and swimming pool are beautiful, taken care off by a team of gardeners who also anticipate guest's needs ... as I was on a lounger, one gardener brought over a cushion for my head to rest on. Staff very helpful and friendly. The location is right in the Medina. Being so it’s small and cramp and only one window, little ventilation. But the whole Medina is foul air due to all the mopeds and smoking. If you have asthma or allergy issues avoid Marrakesh in particular and Morocco as a whole.
