Just sitting by the Rhine, watching the barges, with a nice...
Just sitting by the Rhine, watching the barges, with a nice glass or two of beer - relaxing. We also love the tram ride (30 minutes) to Bonn, which is a wonderful city. The worst thing about it is the train ride up to Drachenfels. Expensive and unnecessary, since the walk up is easy and pleasant. Visiting the Drachenfels is truly awful. There are far too many people and the facilities at the top are woeful.

The breakfast was excellent, and served in a calm and very friendly manner. The charges (which included free parking) were most reasonable. The highly convenient location suited our requirements perfectly as it was midway on a very lengthy car journey over two days. For those wishing to explore the local area it is perfectly situated. We would strongly recommend the hotel.

We were so lucky to have the office manager as a history buff and the two of them worked on the research together. We loved checking in everyday and sharing our finds. The town of Konigswinter is super sweet and has a lovely promenade by the river right outside the hotel. They had a great buffet for dinner with fresh choices that changed daily. Easy access to Schloss Drachenburg, a definite must see. The rack railway access made it just that much more special. The town of Konigswinter is very nice and our hotel was able to recommend a great Italian restaurant for dinner. Parking was available about 100m away in a public parking area.

Nearest supermarket is about a 10 min walk away, but it's easy to drive to and has parking. The bed in our room was remarkably comfortable. Nice walks nearby in the woods.
