Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The location of the hostel was perfect, in the city centre, surrounded by many shops and restaurants. Short walk to the bus station. The room was nice, we had hot water and breakfast was good. Wifi was working great. Value for many was excellent.

The room can be cleaner especially the bathroom and the refrigerator.

That they only have individual beds, it was very comfortable but if you’re travel with your couple it’s something to have into account
Location is excellent, very close to the center and s lot of restaurants. Danny is a really nice person and everyone working there was very nice people, helping and being available for us all the time.

It was a bit loud and it wasn't the cleanest hostel we stayed at, but it was serviceable.
Staff was very nice! They were willing to accommodate a date change after my flight was delayed.

Understandably, it is quite basic, with thin walls and limited space. Again though, no complaints at this price in this location.
Great location right in the middle of 'downtown' Calafate, where almost all alternatives are significantly more expensive. They're super friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and completely fine for two nights.

Very average shower
Very conveniently located, Danny and his family were super friendly and we appreciated the hospitality for a one night stay. The common area was particularly loud but they did ask people to be quiet for us as we had early stay - they also let us keep our bags their whilst ice trekking

The toilet paper can definitely be improved on lol but I never ended up using my own toilet paper on the W Circuit so i just used my own here.
The Staff were awesome. Danny, Eli, and their staff were always very friendly and helpful whenever we needed it. They let us keep our luggage in the hostel while we trekked the W, and even offered to hold our luggage again, even when we weren't staying there, when we had plans to come back to El Calafate for a day. Their wifi worked well, and the rooms were spacious enough for my friend and I, with our luggage and hiking gear. Good lighting as well. The Location was perfect! It was just off the main strip, so you didn't get the noise of the traffic and people at night, but you were steps away from the action if you wanted to explore. Dale Racing! gracias por todo Eli y Danny!

Staff is adorable, they're super welcoming and helpful to navigate the whole area. Room was big and comfortable, bathroom was super clean. Good breakfast.

Danny and Ely are great hosts, very kind, always available to provide indication and advices. The hostel is clean and comfortable. This is a great place as a base to then go for your excursion. I will be back!

The location in the city center. The room is all fine! They offer a basic breakfast on tip basis, which is nice. The owners only speak spanish (and we don’t speak Spanish very well) but they were very kind and helpful. We could stay a full day in the common area and leave our luggage after checkout to wait for our bus.

Good location, off the main street, some good restaurants nearby. Payment in ARS was definitely cheaper. More hostel style but with private rooms and bathrooms. Friendly and helpful staff despite language barrier.
