Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was a bit uncomfortable. The shower leaked out no matter what you did to prevent that. Room was a bit tight. When paying the property, it was not really clear to me the calculation behind (exchange rate) so I suggest in the future this is explained broadly.
We liked the breakfast, quite a variety. You had a key to get back into the hotel if you stayed out after reception hours. They also offered the taxi service from the airport.

Costa RicaTake into consideration that it is located out of the town. You have to walk at least 1 km if you want to see stores and you don’t have a car. However, it is close to bus station (300 meters)
Good breakfast with extra charge of 2000 pesos if you want added eggs. Clean, has private parking.

AustraliaLocation on the periphery of town but very handy for the bus station. The locks on door rooms can be tedious - can require multiple attempts! Bathrooms are dated and showers small with a curtain that wants to cling to you with every move. Biggest drawback is noise - any sound from other rooms, foyer and outside travels clearly.
Simple lodging with comfortable beds and 2 pillow options. Lovely staff. Decent breakfast with more options available than is typical in Argentina. Organised a Perito Moreno tour and airport transfer through the hotel, both were with the same driver and very good.

LithuaniaNoise!!! Woke up first night thinking somebody is sleeping in my room. The noise isolation is really bad. You can hear neighbors snoring. Basic breakfast (bread, yogurt, cornflakes, oats, fruits and sweet pastries). But it's more or less the same in the majority hosterias/lodges I have stayed in South Patagonia.
In overall it met expectations. Knew what to expect :-) Hospitable staff. Very good location - short walkable distance to the bus station. Good Wi-Fi. Fresh fruit at breakfast.

CanadaI wish there was a guest kitchen to store personal food items. They also advertise laundry service for an extra charge, which we were relying on, but they do not have it. We had to take our laundry into town. The luggage storage also needs improvement. They just store your luggage in the main area, it is not a secure storage.
This is a really nice guesthouse in El Calafate. The staff are excellent - very nice and helpful in making bookings, and the breakfast is also really nice and offered early, which we appreciated. The room itself was mostly great, but there's some plumbing issues in the bathroom which cause it to flood the bathroom every time you shower.

United KingdomIt’s a 20 minute walk to the edge of the Main street in town, where most of the restaurants are (uphill walk in the way back) - but it is close to the bus station
Staff were amazing: really helpful and friendly. The option for snacks and packed lunches were really handy, too. Basic facilities, but it’s what to expect in a backpacker-type guest house.

EstoniaThe breakfast was nice in general - yogurts, bread, fruit, cornflakes, oats, bread, and some sweet stuff to put on the bread. It would be great to put something salty and nutritious on the bread (egg, jam, cheese, etc.). But later, experiencing breakfast options in other guest houses, we started valuing what Hosteria Los Gnomos offered.
It was a nice family-run guesthouse with extremely friendly staff who welcomed us. The rooms were simple but nice and clean, and the overall space of the guesthouse was very cozy. We especially liked the location - only 5 minutes to the coach station and 15 minutes to the center - some people mentioned in the comments that it's a bit far from the center, but actually it's not. It was definitely the nicest place we stayed in Patagonia.

United States of AmericaLooks a bit on the older side, 20min walk from downtown where all the restaurants are, breakfast is only toasts and jam + cereals.. doesn’t really keep you full for a long time so we had very early lunches during our stay,

SingaporeAs mentioned in the other reviews, the breakfast selection was underwhelming. This is the only place I stayed so far that did not offer eggs, ham or cheese as part of breakfast. All my other accommodations in El Calafate, or in El Chalten and Puerto Natales offered those choices. I hope the owners can consider improving their breakfast spread for future guests.
About 5-8 mins walking distance from the bus. About 20-30 mins walking distance from the town. The owners were very friendly. The room was a decent size, and it was clean and comfortable.
