How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We stayed above the pub at the end of beef week, and things started to amp up at 10pm, which was quite noisy. I'm sure it is not usually like that.
It is a beautiful heritage building.

The rooms are very outdated and furniture is old. Check out was 10am and staff already knocked on the door early. Late check out would be great.
Location is definitely a bonus and locked carpark. The size of the room was great it was also clean. Staff was helpful, especially at the reception.

Stairwell of the hotel on second floor may need to have some checking or review for maintenance or renovation in future because i experience hearing a little cracking sounds when i walk on it
Old heritage buildings that are neat and tidy. Safe parking near the hotel. Strategic location. Good view to the river. The room's price that i've booked is value for money

Difficult to find the toilets.
Beautiful place to stay, handy to shops. The room was fair for the price. Very clean. Lovely staff and great food.

Nothing. I think for the value you get they meet all expectations. Its not a 5 star hotel and they don't try to be, it s a comfy room at a great price
Very convenient location, the rooms were big and clean. The food at the restaurant is amazing as always and the whole experience was very simple. If you want a low maintenance stay with good air-conditioning, cold beer and a good vibe this is your place.

Sadly, the first room wasn't fully clean, so we had to swap rooms. This could have been due to the Rockynats event over the Easter long weekend. Staff remedied the issue immediately by giving us a different room, which was clean and to the expected standard. This experience wouldn't have deterred us from coming back as we still enjoyed our stay.
Being in a heritage building with a great history. Very quiet being on top of a pub on the top floor. Perfect to spend the night after a long day of travel. The room had lots of character with its accents appropriate to the historic era of the building. Great location, and we looked forward to coming back on our last night in the area.

Understanding that it is a very old, probably heritage listed building, the rooms could do with some renovation and modernization....but then I guess the rates would increase dramatically.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, air conditioned and very affordable. I've stayed here many times and they always look after me. Great views of the river and proximity to the town centre.

The lounge in my suite was exceptionally dirty, broken springs and should be disposed of. I wouldn't even use it for my pets. Bedspreads are still being used which makes me think of how much DNA evidence is on there. Everywhere else uses the triple sheet system. Very musty smell in room. A full length mirror would be great. Poor lighting in bathroom and bedside lampshade was wobbly. Yes, it's a beautiful old building and historic but some simple changes are warranted.
The beds are always comfortable and air con was great. The room was a great size with access to the front verandah. I do enjoy the meals and entertainment at The Cri.

The only thing's we didn't like was that our room didn't have a couch to sit down on to watch TV together like how it was advertised in the photos and the carpet in our room smelt funny like it was wet from water.
My partner Adrian Blackwood and I liked the place and location. Our bed in the room was comfortable to sleep in and the spa bath was great.
