Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great hotel, outstanding location, professional and friendly staff. Great rooms with lovely furnishings and definitely felt like they put money in the right places. The renovation overall was awesome.

AustraliaWould have liked to see a rowing machine in the gym. I also don’t like that the see through screens on the bathroom and that there is little audio privacy between the trim and the bathroom. The rooms are on the small side. Also didn’t like the rooms opening onto an open balcony onto an open courtyard. For some reason felt less secure and private.

AustraliaTwo glitches but awkward. we had drinks in the bar. we bought a bottle of champagne x 3 glasses and 1 coke and 1 lemon lime and bitters. We paid cash for the drinks. the LLB was fine however the coke was only 1/2 a glass full which seemed very peculiar. Drinks were expensive even the soft drinks but we want to make a scene. Never has this EVER happened to any of us before. Very unprofessional we all thought. The following morning our families had breakfast packages. Breakfast was exceptional, however when we got up to leave, in front of other patrons one of the girls said “what’s happening with payment?” I sad “we all bought packages with breakfast included”. we gave our room numbers and names with other patrons were starring which made us feel very uncomfortable. it was after all Mother’s Day. why were we seated and not asked our room numbers instead of making us feel comfortable as if we were trying to eat and run?

New ZealandNot much to mention here.. Because I was only one person in the room, the divider between the bathroom and bedroom was fine but I could imagine it would feel quite intimate with another person in the room. The fluted glass and woven sliding door look great aesthetically, but not the most functional.
Location was perfect for me as I was working in Carlton all week. It was perfect working set up. The room was a great size and not to mention the beds were some of the comfiest ive slept in.

AustraliaIt was weird going to the toilet in a glass box but I got used to it in the end haha.
It was different in appearance. It was clean, I loved the furniture and decor. I enjoyed that it had a decent branded Tv so I could chrome cast straight from my phone. Good amount of power points, nice and dark and modern.

SwitzerlandNothing we can think of. The room was maybe a bit too small for our three suitcases, but in fact you spend the time exploring Melbourne, so not too much of an issue.
Plenty of parking in the big courtyard and a very friendly welcome at the reception. We got a second floor room and were happy to have an elevator again after so many stairs in the hotels before. The rooms have a bit of a funny layout, but are nice, clean and quiet. The neighborhood is great - just walk north to Little Italy and you have dozens of restaurants to choose from, or walk south and you're soon in downtown and at the free tram stations. The hotel also has its own wine bar and restaurant, which we enjoyed one evening - decent choice of wine and food and nice staff. We will stay here again, when we come back.

United KingdomOnly slight downside is the bathrooms don't offer much privacy. The toilet cubicle is a frosted glass box that is visible from the room.
Beautiful rooms that are spotlessly clean and great location in the heart of Carlton. Staff could not be more friendly.

Switzerlandmost rooms face the street and the noise from roaring car engines can be bothersome at times. housekeeping put in minimal effort during our stay. also, we think that in particular the public areas lack attention to detail - which was rather disappointing as the pictures suggested otherwise.
zagame's house is a practically located (deluxe) motel with fair pricing and convenient and good value parking options. the room was overall comfortable, as was the bed, and we always got a good night's rest.

NorwayThere were small spots in corners in the bathroom that was a bit dirty, but im used to it so not super bothered by it, just wanted to let them know. Also the pillows were all a bit different, so for me a solo traveller it was fine, just if i had another one with me, they would not be able to have the same type of pillow as myself. And the movies on the service was a bit bad quality, but watchable. Thats the only bad things. Rest was wonderful.
The vibe, the luxury feel to it. Location was good and breakfast was alright.
