Positive section of review
The area is very beautiful and quiet, but very close to the centre of town. The room size is great! The shower was ok, a bit cold. The view from the room was amazing! Breakfast was nice. The staff were amazing, they helped us a lot with getting around, reliable drivers, etc.. Would highly recommend for a short stay!

The cover sheet for the bed was too small, so it kept coming off even if we just sat on the bed. The shower was cold. It may be due to the power outage they had the day before, but the power in the building was back, yet the shower was just cold water. Maybe it was a temporary issue.

Warm and welcoming staff. The hostel has a nice large common area/dining space to meet fellow travellers. The room was generally neat and tidy and cleaning performed regularly. Good location too. Mid way between the bus station and town centre. Walking distance to all. Great views from common area!

Its a great place with lots of other travelers to meet . Tuesday’s evening, at their restaurant/bar they have Tango learning and social Dance and Wednesday’s they have salsa and bachata dance, with plenty of locals attending. Fantastic place to socialize and meeting great people

The owner is very nice and was very helpful to me. He recommended some sightseeing for us which was really worthwhile. Very hospitable. I was only there one night and left early.

The hotel is nice, facilities are well maintained, clean and there is a good use of space. The overall modern aesthetic of the place is pretty.

As characteristic of Holiday Inn hotels, rooms aren't very spacious and are meant to be used just for sleeping in them. The restaurant service was good; food wasn't extremely delicious but the quanitites were good. The buffet breakfast could use a little more variety in what it offers guests.

It’s not very confortable, bed blankets and pillows are super cheap. The rooms had an electrical heater but no warm blanket so it’s not very comfortable for winter. It’s a bit cold everywhere. The staff has to open the house door for you each time you go in or out. It wasn’t very clean in the bathrooms and in the rooms (tons of dust and things under the bed)

These are the smallest beds I've ever seen in a hotel. Up Retiro is old and shabby, not shabby chic, just shabby. This is compensated by the cleanliness, reliability of hot water, and helpfulness of the staff. I knew going in that there was no breakfast, but discovered I missed that. But what do you want for $35/night in a fabulous major metropolis? I got my money's worth.
