Quirky, suited our group size and allowed us to get together as friends,, good location for city. Heating easy to control. Clean throughout,, comfortable beds and good showers. Lovely comfortable living space for large groups yet homely too.

Being woken at 3.30am by neighbouring room. Being kept awake until 5am by same room. Walls are too thin - we could hear them talking and I mean exactly what was said. All rooms seem to have connecting doors, which adds to the problem. Didn't report to night porter as this could have caused further noise. Fire alarm sounded about 09.00. On leaving we past an emergency exit which was open and staff standing inside, who seemed surprised to see us. They told us that there was no emergency, it was a piece of machinery setting off alarm. Could a member of staff not come round the rooms to tell people not to evacuate? On departure we had to wait 5-10 mins for reception to come off phone as they were dealing with a motorhome booking query. Not receptionists faults as obviously hotel reception staff also deal with lodge and motorhome enquiries and are not dedicated to hotel.
