Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's central location meant it was very noisy, so if you need quiet to sleep, this location wouldn't suit some people. We have earplugs and being city dwellers are used to constant noise.
Wonderful, friendly staff, who couldn't do enough for us to make our stay a memorable one. The terrace was a lovely place to sit for breakfast or just to chill later in the day.

United KingdomNot the fault of the hotel, the cathedral bells did wake me up a bit earlier than expected! (I was hoping for a lie in after a long previous day).
I arrived much later then planned in the evening (train issues) and was worried about checking in. Staff had kindly left a phone number taped to the door (the is a small hotel without 24 hour reception) which I was able to call. I was then talked through the process of opening the door with a key code and my key was waiting for me in my room. The next day on opening my curtains I was greeted with a beautiful view of local rooftops and the huge nearby cathedral. Be advised it has early morning bells (if you aren't a morning person!). Initially when I went to get breakfast all tables were taken. The waitress very kindly (a few minutes later after I returned to my room) knocked on my door to let me know a table was now free. There is outdoor seating as well for when the weather is warmer. The hotel has a great location in the city centre within easy walking distance of lots of nearby museums. Its a 20 minute walk from the main train station. The receptionist was really friendly and kind when I spoke to her about leaving my suitcase (after checking out) whilst sight seeing on my last day. Munster is a beautiful place, and I would certainly consider visiting this hotel again in the future if I returned to Munster.

GermanyTV programs were sparse - maybe 30% were available and all was in German. Breakfast was decent, but no vegan options really. The mattress was not very comfortable.

United KingdomNothing. I'm very pleased I chose Hotel Busche for my stay in Münster
It seems to be family run and a lot of care is taken. The welcome I received was amazing. I booked a single room, which was compact but modern, clean and very comfortable and with views into the cathedral. I made a special request as I'm allergic to feathers and this was noted and catered for, for which I'm grateful. Breakfast was great - I love a good German breakfast and there is a restful breakfast room (+ outdoor area for warmer weather) where I spent a while eating more than I should, drinking coffee and catching up on the news in my iPad. Stepping out of the hotel, you're two seconds from the Dom and pretty much on the Prinzipalmarkt, so the location could hardly be better.

Netherlandscan't think of anything!
This hotel and its staff are AMAZING! The location is directly near the Dom, and easy walking distance to everything, including the castle. The hotel is on a great street with boutiques, restaurants, cafes, art galleries, bakeries and tea shops. My room (12) was on the top floor with a great view--the room was very spacious and super comfortable! The breakfast was outstanding--everything from juice to scrambled eggs to cheese to delicious rolls and meats and cereals, and, and, and. The breakfast person was AMAZING! She was so friendly and helpful who obviously loves making people feel welcome. Marc at Reception was FANTASTIC--friendly and helpful from the moment I go there. I travel a lot, and this hidden gem is WONDERFUL. Don't miss staying here!!!

United KingdomJust a provisor - if you don't do stairs, this is not for you: the reception is on the first floor and the rooms are on floors above that - there is no lift. Not a problem for me but consider it when booking.
I would recommend this hotel, especially for solo travellers, I have no experience of more than one ! The location is perfect: in the heart of the old city with bars, restaurants and even supermarkets close by. The staff are wonderful - friendly, welcoming and helpful. I did a whistle-stop of Germany and this hotel stood in my memory as the best.

PortugalNice small hotel right behind the cathedral. It is close to several restaurants and attractions of Muenster as it is situated in the heart of the city. The room was small but quiet and had a wonderful view for the main churches. From the train station is about 15/20 min walk. I think there is no lift. Correct breakfast and good wifi

Germanyfrom the room, sometimes it was possible to hear the bathroom of the neighbouring room, and to acess the place there are a lot of narrow stairs (which was actually not a problem, btu maybe it is important to highlight it in the description
the room was very nice and quiet, breakfast buffet was tasty, the receptionist were very friendly and nice, they allowed us to stay a few hours after the checkout in the common area to be able to have an internet connection (need for a job meeting)

NetherlandsI would have appreciated a lift to our 4th floor room. Then again a staff member took my luggage upstairs without my asking.
Staff were friendly and forthcoming. Breakfast was very good indeed. Location could not be better: in the middle of the Altstad with its beautiful churches, other pre-war old buildings and on top of all a sunny terrace of a good restaurant right opposite the hotel. This last remark is good to know since there is no Google street view of the Altstad.
