Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only niggle is that parking is effectively 'first come first served' in a very tight private car park - having said that, parking is free outside in the streets, again 'first come first served' but we found a space every night., so ultimately not a problem, certainly didn't detract from our stay, hence only a niggle - don't let that not stop you staying!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, breakfast was plentiful, very enjoyable, and someone who drinks black coffee, that was excellent. our twin beds were great, shower lovely and hot, room quiet. Free wifi very useful to plan our days. Staff were fabulous - very understanding of my lack of German, fortunately my wife can speak German, born not far from Munster, we were back for the first time so she could show me where she was born, schooled - very emotional for her - lovely, Hotel Jellentrup played their part!!

Hotel Jellentrup is a cute little gem of a hotel, located within walking distance from the old city center of Münster. Had a very pleasant stay! The room was immaculate, and the items looks new and / or very well maintained. Bed is of good quality and is comfortable. The room comes supplied with all kinds of commodities, including a complementary bottle of water, tea, coffee, even cookies :) Good wifi included, free of charge. A very tasty breakfast was included, complete with fresh coffee and tea, juice, etc. Staff is very kind and polite. English speaking, no problem! Everyone says hello and smiles all around. Really makes you feel welcome. Parking is included for guests of the hotel - free of charge. Had a very pleasant stay in Hotel Jellentrup, and recommend it as a great place to explore Münster from.

GermanyThe only thing, I had to adjust to was the check-in time, so I left my conference during the afternoon to get the key.
Everything went well; easy to find the place, warm welcome, nice room, pleasant bathroom, comfi bed - and a little table with water cooker and tea (and even a cookie). The breakfast probably was beyond those excellent experiences the very best: perfect taste, good quality, great choice. THANKS A LOT!

United KingdomA very nice hotel. Beautifully kept, clean spacious rooms. Everything worked, super WiFi!! Breakfasts are heavenly, something for everyone. Lovely staff, attentive and helpful. It’s a good 25 minutes walk to Münster city centre but it does mean the hotel is situated in a cool quiet area very close to the most beautiful botanic garden. We loved every minute of our stay. We used to work in Hiltrup, so Münster is well known to us, steeped in history and some of the best pubs in Europe.

United KingdomThe road outside leads to the city centre, and can get busy during rush hour, but generally, at night, the area is quiet enough to sleep. The car park is quite small, but street parking is available.
A comfortable tourist type of hotel, with good sized rooms which were spotlessly clean. The breakfast room is small, but the range and quality of food on offer was excellent, and beat other more expensive hotels we've used. The hotel is family run, and the manager made us feel very welcome. Whilst there is no bar, there is an "honesty fridge" with chilled wine and beer, etc - take what you want, write the details down and pay later - a nice touch. Our room had a balcony, so it was very pleasant to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the mini heatwave during our stay. Free wifi is available, and we got a good signal. There's no air conditioning, but there is a ceiling fan which worked surprisingly well. It's about a 15 minute walk into the city centre, but plan your route and you get to walk past the Botanical Gardens and the grand Schloss.
