Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Lovely apartment that has everything you need for a pleasant and relaxing stay. Very comfortable beds, great bathroom with an excellent shower and also washing machine and dryer. Nice modern kitchen and seating and dining area. Plenty of storage. The apartment is tastefully furnished and has a large outdoor furnished patio area. The location is excellent - quiet yet near to the town as well as having plenty of shopping opportunities nearby. Parking is a nightmare in this area, so we booked the private parking space available and Cigdem was very helpful showing us where it was and even helping us with our luggage.

GermanyI would note that the WiFi did not reach all the way to the bedroom, which was odd and a bit annoying because my phone would not keep LTE service in the bedroom for some reason. It would also have been nice if there was somewhere in the shower to put your toiletries while you shower. The pull out couch was broken when we tried to use it (if you're familiar with the rolling out and lifting up style: the rolling out feature was not in the running element, so it just came completely away from the couch), but I'm sure the owner could remedy this easily, making it suitable for two people to sleep on (we didn't need it, so we didn't actually end up mentioning this while we were there).
This was a great apartment in a very good location. It was a nice, quiet neighborhood with a few nice amenities nearby. There was an excellent pizza restaurant right around the corner, and a nice Vietnamese restaurant within an 8 minute walk. Getting to the old town also took only about 15-20 minutes, and you could walk along the Donau/Danube the whole way there if you wanted. The apartment was very spacious and nicely kept. All the toiletries and other items you needed were fully stocked (multiple sheets, towels, toilet paper rolls, tabs for the washing machine and dishwasher, cartridges and milk/sugar for the coffee machine, etc.). There was plenty of room for a couple or a small family if need be. The shower was very nice and comfortable. There was a full service kitchen (with kettle, single serve coffee machine, pots/pans), table, livingroom, and a desk area between the bathroom and bedroom. All of the Rolladen were electric, which was nice. We also paid to use the parking space, which was about a 2 minute walk from the apartment and very easy to use (i.e. pull straight into it, not parallel parking, and a guard to keep it unoccupied if you need to use your car during the stay). The owner also put the key in a safe, easy to find location so that we could arrive after the check-in window.

United KingdomIt was a shame we didn't get to meet the owner at all. Communication could have been better. We had asked to book parking but didn't receive an answer... and parking in the area was a headache in the evenings! Just two other things could be improved upon: no hairdryer or toaster. However everything else was so good, we didn't mind too much!
Fantastic apartment, loved it! Modern and tastefully furnished. Well equipped, great to have a washing machine. Very spacious. Quiet and comfortable for sleeping. The fresh flowers in the living room were a nice touch. Thanks.
