Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaThe hotel has its old charm, so if you are a fan of old buildings, that is the right place for you. This is not a critique, Just a side note. Some things in the room would have needed some freshening up, but nothing major, the experience was still fantastic.
The location is great, right in the centre. The personnel is fantastic. Breakfast was very tasty and without any plastic containers which I really appreciated. The room was very big.

United KingdomThe room was very hot, no air-con. The bathroom was small, only just possible to shut the door. Couldn’t get drench shower to work. Cocktail bar was closed. I ordered pasta vongole in the restaurant and was told it would be made with halibut. If you don’t have the correct ingredients why not just remove it from the menu or offer an alternative pasta dish?
Good location, nice decor and atmosphere. Very clean and exceptionally comfortable bed. Very nice breakfast, plenty choice and beautifully presented.

CanadaSome of the furniture in our area of the hotel and room, while modern and comfortable, seemed a bit dated.
It is a large, historic centrally hotel that has been extended and refurbished, with excellent service. The room and bathroom were sizeable with a lovely street view of the red-brick buildings that are now schools across the street. A beautiful hotel bar with a library was pleasant to relax and have a drink in, though, in keeping with the hotel and the black-tie event they were hosting, everything was expensive. You could not be any more central, however.

SloveniaI missed extra sockets to charge my phone. Little closet space. I was missing some additional bench or chair for storage in the bathroom.
The bathroom was very large. The breakfast was excellent, I especially liked the ginger shoot and that there was fruit available. Spacious room.

FinlandDespite the pros, the biggest con of this hotel is unfortunately the shower drain. I do like the marble tiles, but the drain has been clogged for ages and no one seems to have done any proper cleaning. It is very unhygenic to shower when the drain does not work, your feet are basically drenched in dirty water. I hope the hotel would take this seriously because no guest wants to have a horrendous showering experience when they travel a long way and expected a warm shower to refresh the day. Also, it might be that I am not used to the two separate cold-hot faucets setting but that was not too pleasant to use (the water gets overly cold and overly hot during shower).
Firstly the breakfast was nice, a lot of food options and the restaurant vibes feel quite classic. The location of this hotel is top-notched because it's only 5 minutes walk away from railway station and within close proximity to the town center and attractions. You can walk to Andersen's house in 6 mins, to town center in 2-3 mins. The decoration and design of this hotel is very retro and classic. The cleaners and workers are generally helpful. Bed is good and pillow is comfy, the overall amenities are alright.

DenmarkOur room felt really cold. I had to crank up the radiator really far. And the car sound went right through the windows. I was checking 3 times if the windows were open because of the sound and temperature. Would love some better windows when the room is facing the road.
I love this hotel. Have been there a few times. The rooms and staff are great. The breakfast is wonderful too.

Very good breakfast and very comfortable beds. We stayed 2 nights in a twin room on the 3rd floor . Our room was spacious, beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. The bathroom was clean, but the basin was slow to drain, may need some pipe unblocking. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and I would definitely book again.

Saudi ArabiaThe heating at my room was not good, I asked the maintenance and they provide extra hot fan .There is new extension building having some rooms where I stayed which are far from reception and needs to walk in long corridors and two lifts!!!!😒.
The location is superb and at the heart of this lovely city. I like the building which is historical and Victorian with very nice decoration. Do not forget to take the breakfast with nice Danish candles and historical atmosphere. I like the hotel and would come again.

DenmarkThere is no access for prams and strollers. A narrow ramp stays on top of a flight of several stairs, but it is too narrow and steep to climb with a stroller/pram. Furthermore, the access to the ramp is too close to a column, which doesn't let one access it. Being narrow and steep makes it easy for the stroller to fall out of the ramp into the stairs, which can damage your stroller. Our toddler could go out of the stroller and climb the stairs with our help, but it may be hard for a single parent with a small baby to figure it out, and even hazardous if the need to climb with the baby inside the pram arises. On the plus side, once you reach the top of the stairs every day they let you keep your stroller in the luggage room. We also didn't like that they charge 100 DKK per night to rent a cot which most similar hotels offer for free. In general, the hotel is not appropriate for a family with small kids.
The breakfast and location are great.

DenmarkApart from the "old" decor, which we loved, there was perhaps a bit too much modern neutral"grey" decor everywhere, which I felt took away from the massive "olde worlde" charm this hotel could otherwise have. The sitting area in our room could have had better lighting. Our room looked out onto the inside of the quadrangle, which has a pretty horrible view (i.e. no view unless you like fire escapes). So we kept the curtains shut. No car parking for guests - luckily this was a non-issue for us but guests should bear this in mind. I suspect this is a fairly general problem at Odense town centre hotels.
The room itself was lovely. We booked a "superior double room", which was kind of a small suite just with no door between the sitting room and bedroom. The bathroom was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast room and hotel in general was very characteristic of the Danish late 19th/early 20th century style with lovely pillars and carvings and a big staircase with paintings. The staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was fine. Visitors should explore the ground floor where the reception rooms are, and especially the photo galleries there which truly attest why the hotel was indeed the grandest of its day in Odense.

United StatesI only wish there was a small fridge in the room. But it would not stop me from staying here again. I would love to come back in the Spring time.
The staff here was lovely, the breakfast was good, and the room was cozy but not small. I really enjoyed the feel of this place. Also, the location was stellar-right in the center of a very walkable city.
