Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt's a shame there's no restaurant. The walk back up from central Bilbao is hard work after a day sightseeing!
Beautiful view from the room, staff friendly and helpful, plentiful breakfast with sweet and savoury options. Easy parking.

Portugal-The room doors are manual and tend to be noisy when opened or closed. While this is due to guests' actions and not the hotel's fault, it can still be disruptive in the morning if you want to sleep in. -The hotel recommended a local restaurant for dinner, but it had limited options and was quite pricey. It's better to visit downtown Bilbao, where you'll find many excellent and more reasonably priced dining options for both lunch and dinner. -Local construction caused some noise in the mornings, which was a bit disruptive.
-The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. -The free parking is a great bonus.

IcelandStrong air freshener/perfume smell in the apartment. Too strong and to chemical for my taste.
This is a lovely hotel with a great staff and easy parking. Beautiful location overlooking the city. You can drive 2k to the funincular, park and take that down into the city. It's interesting, fun and much more efficient than driving and parking if you want to go to the Guggenheim. The rooms were beautifully appointed and impeccably clean. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We rented the 2 bedroom apartment and one extra room. The apartment had everything we could have wanted in terms of equipment. Hotel Artexe is a joy!

SpainA Roman blind is needed in the bathroom window. Also a couple of noisy dogs barking outside near the apartment at night.
The apartment was well equipped, very good quality mattresses and pillows. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The breakfast lady was very smiley .

United KingdomNo lock on the shower room and steps into the apartment were easily missed; the host thankfully warned us of this.
Great location overlooking the city and close to the airport to access post checkout. A short drive to the furnicular which gave us a convenient travel option to access the city. The views from here were superb and we were grateful for the hotel host recommending this to us. The apartment was spacious, adequately furnished with comfortable beds and a large shower room.Breakfast was great value with an excellent choice of savouries, pastries and fruit. The staff were very helpful and cheerful and helped make our stay pleasurable.

United KingdomUsing the toaster blew all the electricity (although staff downstairs were able to put it back on quickly when we went down to tell them, and offered to make toast for us), lights in bedroom strangely wired so you couldn't turn on a bedside lamp without all the other lights in the room, a drive rather than a walk to the top of the funicular to get down into Bilbao (though funicular great once there)
Comfortable, quirky apartment (though watch your head on the low beams at the sides!), well-equipped and with plenty of space, comfortable bed, pleasant staff, easy to get to by car and good accessible parking, and with great views over the city

FranceIt was busy at reception so was very slow couldn’t sit down while waiting as not enough seating, 20 mins !Dog barking most of the night somewhere but I realize that is difficult to correct.
It’s location was good as we do not want to be in Bilbao. So the funicular was perfect, plus we found an excellent cafe/ restaurant right by the funicular.

United KingdomCan't think of anything
Breakfast was excellent. Service was excellent. We had two different rooms, both very good but one had a superb view over Bilbao. Location is great for a one night stay if you are getting on or off thr ferry. I'm sure it is equally good for a longer stay We walked down to Bilbao, down many steps, and really enjoyed it, but baulked at the climb back later and got a taxi.

United KingdomIt was a bit of a trek into town and returning uphill would be a challenge if you’re not a keen walker. But there was a bus and taxis weren’t expensive.
Lovely views over the City. Felt comfortable and safe. Parking was easy. All round, a great place to stay.

Czech Republicthe double room we have initially booked had regular double bed, perhaps 140cm or 160cm and we prefer large double. the room was also smaller than the one we got after. was still ok, just something to keep in mind if you prefer wider bed
we requested a room with 2 twins after checkin,, as we preferred larger double bed and they were happy to accomodate it. the offered room was large and with good facilities, nice view over the city as well. staff was very nice

United KingdomThe fridge in the room was a little noisy; and I had to shut the window to keep out the noise of a couple of dogs barking.
