Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe meals (we had a half-board) were partially okay and partially good (but nothing special). The meal and dessert selections for breakfast and dinner were very limited for a 4-start hotel. The restaurant was in the basement with no windows, I personally like to see some views to outside rather than walls around me.
It is a nice 4-star hotel in a quiet place close to the beach. There are trekking paths along the beach as well as walking paths on the streets around the hotel which are well-lit at nights. The staff were nice and friendly and we were given a room with see-view at no extra charge. The small outdoor pool was also clean and well-maintained.

IrelandHad to get a taxi to salou, there is some bars and restaurants in cap salou a little walk around the corner of the hotel but not a big selection.
The receptionist was so lovely to me as it was my birthday she organised a bottle of champagne for our room. The hotel was lovely and clean and staff were friendly. Our beds was comfy and we had a nice sea view and pool view.

IrelandAsked to pay extra upon using the larger Sun beds. No notice anywhere upon booking the room that these were not free. No signs about that these were to be paid for. Left a sour taste when staff approached and asked us to pay or get up. I expected this at the beach, not at my hotel.
Beautiful view, clean spacious room, great air con. Great pool area, nice staff.

United KingdomStaff didn’t know allergens in the food - wasn’t signposted. I am personally sensible with selecting choices due to this but think it could perhaps be better signposted to avoid reactions.

United KingdomOne poolside bar person never in a rush to serve people. One evening at the bar she emptied the dishwasher of cups which weren't needed until next day while I waited nearly 10 mins to be served. I then noticed some Spanish men came to the bar 10 mins after myself and were served by another bar person without having to ask it seems locals are served easier.
Hotel is in a lovely spot facing the med, I had fantastic views every day. No rush for a sun lounger everyday which is a bonus. The staff are very friendly, food was great a good variety every day and different theme most nights. The entertainment was OK but nothing going on of a day and very limited for children. Staff in dining area especially Kovak very friendly & helpful.

FranceFood was a bit bland and repetitive, and also needed to be hotter! Tea and coffee making facilities in the room lacked something's such as non decaffeinated coffee, and perhaps uht milk instead of powdered milk, also paper cups weren't replenished. Didn't have extractor in bathroom working, and door wasn't the best design,as didn't close properly. No onsite amusement in bar area , such as.pool table etc.
Friendly staff, comfortable beds with good room service. Nice views. Good to have a fridge and safe.

United KingdomThe only disappointments were: 1. the use of polystyrene cups for coffee and tea - not expected from a 4 star hotel. We did temporarily 'borrowed ceramic cups' from the restaurant.. Could do better at no extra costs, in fact, using polystyrene cups is an irreplaceable expense and not good for the environment. The hotel has glasses in the bathroom so why not ceramic cups in the coffee area? Doesn’t make sense. 2. not being able to charge expenses to the room requiring always carrying a credit card - even when sunbathing or swimming. Again, not expected in a 4-star hotel. 3. lack of information, menus and no room service, although my wife was able to bring a tray up for me as, on some days, because of a medical condition, I was confined to be. I appreciate that COVID prevention is serious but why not supply a leaflet at check-in? The evening buffet dinner was always themed, but this detail was not easily passed on to the guests. 4. After more than 30 years of travelling around the world, I have come to recognize the many difference between 2, 3, 4 and 5 star hotels having experienced many of each in over 80 countries. I was therefore surprised to be presented with the bill for the entire stay at check-in. Normally, a 4-star hotel would process your card but not take payment until check-out plus expenses, etc. (See 2 above)
The hotel was very accommodating and the staff extremely friendly. I asked for a suite upgrade but this was not an option on the booking.com room selection. So the hotel made the change and passed the cost through as 'extras'. The young receptionist (Albi [?]) did much more that expected as I had a problem during check-in and he should be given an little more salary because of his family circumstances. Good workers are difficult to find. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The balcony provided a good view of the sea and the swimming pools. The bathroom facilities are excellent. The walk-in shower was difficult to get out of not because of getting in and out but because the power of the overhead 'rainshower' head was so relaxing. Sorry if we used more water than usual but if you can't enjoy the experience of a nice holiday then what to do? The hotel obviously takes cleanliness seriously as the corridors and hotel surround generally were very clean and attention in the restaurant to sanitising tables etc after each use. Certainly deserving of it 4 star grading and one that I would be happy to use again and recommend to family and friends.

GermanyThey should warn foreign guests arriving with cars that parking garage is full or most of the time full. Finding a spot can be very far from the hotel about 500 to a 1000 meter and can take a minimum of 15 minutes waiting time and that’s if you are lucky. The plates and glasses should be washed and dried properly. The top of the plate is clean, but the back is either wet or very greasy. Some glasses were washed but with dried orange pulp stuck to the inner part of the glass. Also, I booked a room with sea view, but it was partial sea view. I asked the receptionist Iryna, but she explained to me that if there is a bit of sea view, it is considered sea view. The term sea view is misleading especially if you see the entire opposite hotel and a quarter of sea view only. In any case, we had a wonderful time.
Staff were great, courteous and very helpful. Room and bathroom were spacious. At their restaurant, there was a variety of delicious food to choose from
