Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe beds are a little small and slightly uncomfortable and since it’s a tiny hotel it was a little noisy at night. Bring ear plugs!
The staff was super friendly and helpful! The have complimentary coffee and tea all day and if you need a fridge they will let you store food. The bus stop is right outside the front door as well.

SpainBreakfast lacks a bit of variety. Would be great to at least have an option for protein but there were mainly pastries and bread.
Staff very attentive and friendly. The sea view from the room and from the dining space is fantastic. Overall very cute, comfortable stay. We would love to come back again.

New ZealandIf you're having dinner down the hill, make sure you know where the bus stops are before you return
Despite being out of town, the car parking is free and a 25 minute bus trip got us to the best part of town, a scenic ride. Lovely clean room, substantial breakfast for Euro 8. Very helpful staff recommended the sights to see.

United StatesThe room for three was a bit tight. Though there were rooms with balconies overlooking the Bay we didn't get one.,
A charming hotel nestled on the mountain side overlooking the Bay of Biscayne, Spectacular views from the sunny breakfast room. Lovely breakfast choices all fresh and well stocked. Reminicient of hotels of yesteryear in the best way. Rooms are neat and sparse. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom ample.

United StatesAll staff were extremely hospitable and had a great attention to detail. Friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful regarding details on hotel and what activities and things to do in the area. Felt like I was visiting a friend’s personal home. Location was ideal. Far away enough from city to enjoy nature but close enough to get to old town area quickly and easily via bus stop directly in front of hotel. Room was extremely and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again next time I visit San Sebastián.

United Kingdomthe hotel is located not far from the center. There are bus stops next to the hotel, so getting to the center is not a problem. The hotel service is incredibly nice and professional. We really felt at home. There is a sea view from the dining room. We will definitely come back again. Kisses from Ania to the ladies and gentleman from the reception

Location on the mountain with a sea view, the staff are helpful and polite which makes me highly recommend this two star hotel. There is no kitchenette or even a kettle in the room but the receptionists would love to help with a smile on their faces. They also provided key information (where to go, what to do, events, planning your trip, etc.) thanks Alena and Inaki

United StatesWe were sad to leave after only two nights!
This stay was amazing! When we arrived, the very helpful front desk attendant (Elena?) gave us the warmest welcome and an incredibly thorough description of the town's attractions and transportation. We had booked a mountain view room, but were pleasantly surprised to be in an ocean view room, which was just spectacular! The beautiful view from the balcony was a real highlight of our stay in San sebastian. The room was impeccably clean, and everything was in great condition. The shower was hot with great water pressure, the beds super comfortable! In the morning there was free coffee and tea. The breakfast looked good, but we didn't try it. The hotel is high on a hill above town, but is a fifteen minute walk from the beach and restaurants and shops, and a very easy frequent bus ride back up the hill on the number 16 bus for less than 2 euro! The bus literally drops you off at the front door of the hotel. We would totally stay again!

United KingdomNothing important to say, except maybe some plug in USB terminals. Would have been easier, Than plug adaptor. But not important, and we managed.
The staff were so helpful, friendly, and full of information of the surrounding areas and town. Bus timetable, taxis. Etc. All staff were so helpful in every way. We had one day that rained heavily when we were in the town. So got back to hotel, soaked. Because of the weather, we decided to stay in the hotel. They opened up the dining area, lots of help yourself hot drinks. Then later they ordered our pizza to be delivered. Staff then organized plates etc for us. Breakfast was plenty to keep us full most of the day. Great choice of food.

Lovely room, very comfortable beds, good breakfast. You can catch the bus into the city or to the beach from just across the street; runs every 20 min. Free parking.

United KingdomNothing!
The location was exceptional with lovely views from our balcony and the bus stop just outside the door of the hotel meant we could leave the car in the car park during our stay and take the excellent bus service down into San Sebastian for all our visits to the town. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel owner was very friendly and helpful in giving us lots of good advice about what to visit in the area.

United KingdomLike many Spanish hotels, sound insulation is poor. There was a family who let their kids run about until 10.30 pm and they were at it again by 7.00 am the next morning - but it was fine once they left.
Superb sea view. Quiet environment. Frequent bus service to town. Very welcoming and friendly staff. We went into town for our meals, but the breakfast looked fine (7 Euros). Very handy for the amusement park if you have kids - but not close as to be intrusive. Books in various languages, and board games, available in the lounge.

United StatesThe journey in car to the hotel is both far and difficult if you are not used to it - it is a 20+ minute drive from downtown Bilbao, the last 10 minutes of which are on a one-lane road that is two ways, with a lot of sharp turns. We had no problems, but it was definitely something not every driver may be able to deal with.
The owner, whose name I never learned though I should have, took excellent care of us. The food is superb and the setting simply cannot be topped.

DenmarkI mentioned that it was on a steep hill, which was unexpected to me and not really part of my plan, so I did not love that, but if that is what you are going for, it is great. Thhe road outside can get kind of loud during the day if the window is open. This could be circumvented by booking the seaside rooms at a slightly higher cost. And at night there was less traffic and it did not bother us at all.
The hotel lies in beautiful surroundings above Donostia-San Sebastian - on a very steep hill. My fault for not chhecking a topographical map, but the two kilometers to the beach were not easily traversed with a leisurely stroll. Luckily there is a bus right outside the hotel that will take you to thhe main beach in about half an hour. The owner/ manger and the staff were incredible. Very caring, and took the time to inform each guest of places to go in SS, they hhad a list of restaurants to try, information on getting around, etc. It just was a magnificently welcoming experience.
