How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

You can hear everything what is being said in other rooms and in the hallway. You can hear people talking in the street. Small room. Small bathrooms.
Fantastic location. Excellent price (considering location). Very nice staff. Despite of limited English, communication wasn’t a real problem. Cleanliness. Three bathrooms for five rooms, so shared facilities never caused any problems. Electric kettle, tea bags, instant coffee in room.

The rooms are not very soundproof from noise from neighboring rooms. The rooms are small and there is not common area.
Cute little pension with a homely vibe. Located very centrally, yet you cannot hear the noise from the streat. Friendly staff.

The rooms, bathrooms, and area were more than we expected and everything was clean and working exceptionally! We were able to leave our bags when we departed and check in late, everything was very smooth. The location is perfect, we kept walking around nice parts of San Sebastián and accidentally arriving back at our flat!

Due to the central location, the room was somewhat noisy at the weekend nights. We had some low wifi speeds. It was somewhat cold in the room, we noticed only on the last day of our stay that this was due to a faulty window isolation. We forgot to notify the staff about this, but we think they could have addressed this issue had we let them know about it in time.
Location is central, in the heart of the city. Check-in and check-out were simple and straightforward. The bathrooms were very clean, the room was tidy. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Spotlessly clean, good bed, small but very functional bathrooms, easy access, near lots of places to eat and drink. Excellent double glazed windows effectively canceled the inevitable late night noise from the bars in the street. I would stay here again.

Really great option if you want to stay in the heart of Old Town and walk to every PINXOS bar. Super central, and close to all the nearby beaches as well as a short walk to get on to the Camino Trail. We stayed for a long weekend and it was perfect. You feel like you're right in the heart of old town, and the windows are all double glazed so when they're closed there's no noise from the Street. It was out first time staying in a 'Pension' style accommodation with shared bathroom, but they were kept meticulously clean and cleaned regularly. Having our beds made and fresh towles everyday was a real treat. Fran the owner was LOVELY! We enjoyed meeting him and had a great chat even though we speak different languages. Thank you so much!

I felt that the shower was too small.
I love the location. I felt that our room was very comfortable and clean. I was happy that our pension had an elevator. I would definitely stay there again.

The location was amazing. With the windows closed you could not hear anything downstairs which is a plus for a very busy street. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms were very clean all the time even though they were shared. Our only issues were the small shower size since my husband is kind of big and the tall, long pillows. We loved our stay here for 3 nights and would totally recommend.

The tavern below made quite a lot of noise at night, but with the fan on and earplugs it wasn’t too difficult to sleep. The blinds did let quite a lot of light in, so may be worth bringing and eye mask or black out blind.
Location was fantastic, and situated in the middle of the old town close to shops, bars, and restaurants. Staff were attentive and extremely friendly. Facilities were basic, but clean and well maintained.

Very kind and friendly personal. It was super easy to communicate, room and whole hotel is very clean. You feel there yourself as at home. The most central location in the heart of old town - restaurants, pinxtos, shops and bus station. It’s five minute from mountain (Christ Monument at the top, strongly recommended) and Concha beach. The best place to stay and fall in love with San Sebastian. Thanks a lot to this hotel and good luck for them. P.S. Terry is nice perro)
