Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

ThailandDinner in the main hall, the taste of food was underwhelming. But the Amar Restaurant was great and worth a try!
The location is very safe and in the center of everything. 5-minute walk to Passeig de Gràcia, 15 minutes to the Gothic Quarter. The staff is very kind and accommodating. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was superb, not to mention situated in such a beautiful room and ambiance. I would definitely return.

It is an extremely classy, elegant, and comfortable hotel situated close to everything. The Eixample is a great neighborhood in Barcelona, home to many great restaurants, but also close to the gothic section and all the great tourist sites. The staff are extremely helpful for taking care of travel related problems.

The entire hotel experience was first rate. The staff went over and above in their helpfulness and friendliness. Examples 1. We enjoyed the afternoon tea especially the scones! The next morning when I asked if the scones from the tea were available, the staff mentioned that they were usually just for the Tea, then made some just for me. 2. I blew a fuse when using the iron. within 5 minutes, the fuse had been fixed and a replacement iron was given to me. 3. We loved the scent throughout the hotel- I asked about it and was able to purchase a bottle of the custom made Hotel El Palace room spray.

Before I booked, I was very confused about which hotel I should choose, but once I stepped in I knew I have done the right decision. The hotel is very safe . The junior suite has a separate wardrobe which gives privacy, and it has a sofa bed (we used for the kids). The room furnished very elegantly. The breakfast area is nice and peaceful. They brought us some small gestures for the kids and it was a very kind of them. The toilet has a hand-spray(شطاف) which is very important to us. Overall the hotel is amazing.
