Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelBreakfast is a little expensive for what you get. Finding a parking spot is a bit tedious since the hotel does not have any parking. Our cooler didn't work. They sent someone to fix it, but it didn't work either. So eventually, the front desk offered us to leave our stuff at the kitchen, which was nice but a bit uncomfortable.
The location is great. A short walk to the cathedral. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful.

GermanyIt‘s a pity they don‘t have their own parking. We travelled by ebike and were recommended to park at the cinema. Fortunately all went well but was at first sight the bicycle room didn’t look like a very secure spot and left us worried for a while.
Stylish and modern hotel nicely located close to Neudorf, short walk to the center. Would definitely recommend.

AustraliaSmokers standing at the front door which meant you had to walk through them to either exit or enter the building. But, that's France for you! Everything else was great.
The room layout, loved that the bed faced the window and you could look out at night and see the city lights. Loved not having a door on the bathroom, loved the small lounge and table, and loved having a fridge and kettle. The breakfast selection was really good and I particularly liked the little extras such as chopped coriander and shallots to add to you food!

GermanyThe chairs in the room were quite uncomfortable. We got the impression they tried to get the absolute minimum furniture to get their four-star-rating. Also, you can’t use the bathroom in the night without waking up your partner, because of the way the light works. One oddity was the lamp next to the bed. It had a USB port to charger your phone. Great idea, but it only worked while the light was on. The biggest shortcoming was the lack of storage space. Only two drawers, one proper night stand (in a room for two), and not even a place to put your towels.
The staff was very friendly and the view from the room was great. The breakfast very good with a good selection of different items. The modern decoration might not be to everyone's taste, but the pictures are accurate, so you know what to expect and we quite liked it.

United KingdomWe're not used to paying that much - and it's a long way from Strasbourg centre. Good job we like walking. We also had a lot of hassle trying to get to the hotel from the train station but that was because the tram information was not at all clear.
Breakfast was very good. Staff and service was excellent, especially bar staff.

GermanyOur view - unlike advertised, it depends on which side of the hotel the assigned room is on. We only had a view of the park instead of the advertised water or cathedral view, which was a little disappointing but all In all didn´t matter very much to us.
The staff - especially at the bar - is super nice and forthcoming! Beds and overall comfort is great and the view is fantastic! We also loved the free tea and coffee in the room and the pool table at the bar downstairs. The hotel is situated about a 10-15 mins walk away from the city centre, which is very close and right next to the hotel you can find the Rivetoile shopping centre, where you can find everything else you need. We had a great stay!
