How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Whenever I come from outside I have to wait to open the door for me. Sometimes it took more than 5 mins because the guy was working on the upstairs so he couldn't hear the bell. It would be great if they introduced a card-punching machine at the door. Another problem is the room is not soundproof. So it was a little bit annoying when the guest in the next room was watching TV at midnight.
The property was clean, however a little outdated but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is close to two tram lines (T1 and T5).

Area - the walk from the metro station runs through a deserted highway. No lift - we were on the 4th (5th) floor and had no probs with staircases, but If you have cardio problems we advise asking for the lower floors. No Wi-fi - it was not working, staff explained that as maintenance problems. Room interior - one of the walls (outer) in our room was covered in mold. We spent very little time in the room so we tried not to pay much attention. About the room: I also recommend hanging a longer shower curtain and add towel hangers, loosening the hydraulics for the room door and hanging a screen on the shower window through which spiders could get into the apartment.
Location - good enough to reach city center, 5 minutes walk from the final metro station line 13. Responsive hotel administrator, she was trying to solve our requests. Clean room - everything in the room was clean. Fridge - working fridge was good for such hot season and our special needs. Very good value for money.

Front door is locked at all times, so it is really safe. Was very clean. You even get towels and bedding stuff. Metro was just 10 min away by foot. Overall extremely good for the price.

S long-term issue for the hotel might be to hire a receptionist for more hours than one was available. This would allow for early arrivals, help with directions and negotiating the transit system, etc. The staff let me leave my luggage at the hotel when I arrived early and my room was not ready, as they said might be the case in a written message. One small, short-term idea might be to put a small towel rack by the sink, so that guests could hang their towels. I used the racks of of the shelves where I was also able to hand my clothes.
Location was great for me, a ten-minute walk from the place where I wored for a few days. My room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. The balcony overlooked a wooded walking path toward the east. The staff was very helpful in connecting my devices to the WifFi. This did not seem to "kick-in" right away, but after the first day, it worked normally, as if I were at home. The room was very comfortable and airy, with a high ceiling. The cable TV had a variety of channlels, including one with some programs in lnaguages other than French (I heard one each in English, Italian, and Spanish).

No need for the sink in the room. The street was rather noise and someone was banging the doors at midnight... The toilet was clean, the shower however not. The personal was friendly, there is a language barrier however (front desk doesn't speak English) which isn't helpful if you're an international client. I was supposed to get a code to enter the hostel at night,never received it. For the checkout there was nobody there to take the key, the check out process was not communicated.
