I felt the reception was a little ’sniffy’ but I did express myself about this in person, so won’t dwell, suffice to say the first impression is very important, and people shouldn’t be judged on their appearance. There may be a security related issue as to why someone may not be ‘suited and booted’ so to speak. Welcoming is something that’s transmissible via various means. —— Switching up subjects I had to overcome squeamishness to walk past some inebriated characters, but when I saw a senior citizen of some vintage running the gauntlet, I did same, opting for the main road (round the corner to the hotel) rather than a side road where there where some other characters. I had noticed a female youth had used the side street, as we kind of acknowledged each other when we came open common ground. — I had been interested to know the area and get some heat. As it was an ‘en-route’ location for me, on this occasion it was more about getting a feel, which I think I did, and would like to revisit. —-/ If you take a FlixBus remember to book a seat. The £1-49 may be worth avoiding a world of pain haha! ——- The island cooking area extractor is a bit dangerously low, and I saw repeated bumping of albeit the same head!

I luckily saved the info from what I didn’t like, but it was a bit of a glitch and removed all the other info! I said I liked the way the layout of the hotel encouraged a conviviality. I liked the mixture of clean lines and comfort, and the bright colours, which I didn’t mention in my lost review haha! I loved the kitchen. It was very well appointed and well looked after, and there was some complementary items which had been donated by others, and it helped to make the money stretch. The overall kitchen area was hygienic and appealing. And also the area adjacent to the lobby was nice for the last day.

The hotel door is closed after 10pm, you should ring the bell when you arrive on your first time. After that the room card opens the outdoor as well. They also charge for luggage room if you want to leave your luggage for a while, I think it was unnecessary expensive.

Hotel staff was very helpful. The hotel and the room was clean. The location is okay if you want to walk to the port.

Charging 5€ per bag to store luggage is something I’ve never seen before! I would stay somewhere with free luggage storage next time.

The location was very central and a quick walk to the port and main centre. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The shared kitchen was a huge plus! It had all utensils and was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The bed! It's so bad like a dish washing sponge. It is so soft I could barely walk after one night. The second i slept on the floor.

Spotless clean, well run place. Pricey extras (drinks, pizza, left luggage), lots of school visitors
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Standard Twin Room

Paying for left luggage is a little mean. I understand its an insurance thing, but how can other hotels facilitate this without charge? I think this isn't great and felt a bit stingy. The cost for a cooked (frozen pizza) was £13 euro and a beer over £10. Again, a little steep. The kitchen which is spotless but had almost no cups or cutlery. Lastly, there were a lot of school groups arriving every evening, but there was a security staff member always circulating, no issues with disturbance and everything almost seemed to be kept very clean. The area is a little off the main area and there is a slightly edgy feel to the junction that is passed as you head down the road into town. I wouldn't feel great walking about late at night out there, but the accommodation felt safe.

Spotless place. Very well presented with modern feel. Lovely garden, comfortable lounge area, laundry, kitchen and spotless toilets. Great welcome from staff. Good facilities. Location about 10 min walk from old port area. Aldi nearby. Generally, a very clean, modern, fresh, well maintained place. Recommended.

Great space for a couple of days

The mattress in our bed was terribly soft. Obviously, this is a subjective matter, but I think it needs to be replaced; it felt like sleeping in a pit, and my shoulder still hurts. :(

We recently stayed in Marseille for 4 days (2 adult 1 child) and were delighted to find that our accommodation offered fantastic value for money. The location was exceptional for both walking and bus access, making everything conveniently reachable. Contrary to what some may say about Marseille, we did not feel uncomfortable at any moment during our stay, feeling quite safe throughout our visit. The breakfast provided by the hotel was average; it was nice to have it included in the price, but we wouldn't recommend paying extra for it, especially when there are wonderful bakeries nearby offering delicious breakfast options. For those concerned about cleanliness, it's important to note that daily cleaning services are available upon request, a detail clearly communicated at reception. We found both our room and the hotel in general to be very clean. The staff deserves special mention for their friendliness, enhancing our stay significantly. We also loved the communal kitchen available for guests to use at any time, alongside two washing machines, and a fun game room. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily return to this hotel on our next visit to Marseille. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and friendly place to stay!
