How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room service and Cleaning was twice a week, also towels were not so lovely at first , but next days after changing they were better than on the first day .

Walk from the station, area felt a little dodgy but close to the hotel was fine..
Price suited budget, comfortable and spacious. Kitchenette was a bonus, ac and very clean

The bathtub! It was so high that I had to practically climb to get in! I hurt my knee while trying to get inside the bathtub and I still have a bruise :(
The room was of good size and very clean. The location was exceptionally good. The staff was very friendly.

The only thing missing was an exhaust fan in the bathroom.
Residhome Marseille was a great hotel to stay for the 3 nights in Marseille. It's newly renovated, clean, good location and the staff were very kind and helpful. Nicole was especially warm and caring. We were pleasantly surprised with a basket filled with goodies and a bottle of champagne as they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary that weekend. Thank you Residhome for a great stay and experience in France.

The breakfast for about 20 euros was not worth at all... Some of the receptionists could not speak English at all...

Location is really good, close to the main train station but also to the old harbour. The staff was super friendly, and the area felt safe and welcoming!

Only criticism was that check-in was a bit later than would have been ideal, but apart from that, nothing.

The Residhome Marseille hotel was in good location. Walking distance around Marseille.Modern looking, big and very bright room. Liked the little kitchen which was very handy to have.

In particular the kindness of the staff, who helped us when we booked really late due to problems we had with another place. The room was perfect. Really big thanks to the manager (and yes, they were able to solve our problem and booking reimbursed us).

Comes with kitchen in room but could not find any sponges or washing up liquid to clean dishes etc also toiletries were limited to soap only. No shampoo or conditioner
Good size rooms, friendly multi lingual staff and surprisingly beautiful view of the church just before you enter the property

Terrible pillows. Hard as nails. Breakfast is a miss unless you are in a hurry. Loads of better alternatives within walking distance.
Good value for money, great location and friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are serviced regularly. Rooms are big with a place to work and to eat in. Kitchen is functional and has everything you need to prepare a simple meal.

All was good.
Overall, the stay was lovely. Quiet room, comfortable for one person, at a great location, and staff had been very helpful. The Metro is very close, just as are buses. The city-centre is close by and easy to walk to.

It was quite noisy the first night, but it was better on the following days. I guess nothing that the hotel can control as it was due to other guests being quite disrespectful.
It was clean and well located. Room was big.

Great location just 10 min walk from port. Quiet and calm area with a great view of la major cathedral when you walk outside. 5 mins from la panier District, overall can't fault it
