Light switches and plug socket positioning was very strange. The switch to turn the lights off at night was at the opposite end of the room so I had to use a torch to get to the bed. I was woken up at gone midnight on my first night by what sounded like people moving furniture around. No mirror, towel rail or loo roll holder in the bathroom. The waitress was quite rude at breakfast. She just plonked our plates down and mixed them up. This meant my husband had to pass me my plate and I burnt my hand. Was disappointing that there is an extra charge to use the swimming pool.

The room was spacious and the bathroom was bright and clean.

The room was very dirty and dusty. There were black long hairs in the bath and around taps, there was also massive clumps of dust in the vents in the main room. The air con was not working either, there was a fault that came up with a spanner which assuming it needs some maintenance. Second time I have stayed here but not sure if I will return as cleanliness is important to me. As no one wants to wash and stay in someone else's filth.

This is the second time I have stayed at this location as the first time was good and the rooms are very spacious and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast was also very nice.

The hotel is a bit tricky to find (even with satnav) My room (233) was windowless Plug on the washbasin didn't work I couldn't get enough hot water to take a bath or shower The hotel is generally rather down at heel, but at the price I wont complain about that

I needed a stopover, on a budget. The so called budget chains were asking £110 - 120. I took this offer at only £69, room only. The hotel seemed busy, especially popular with contractors working nearby and looking for budget accommodation. Positives: Decent parking in spacious grounds with a lot of outdoor seating (for smokers) Quiet, decent-size room with comfortable double bed Basic toiletries, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, tea and coffee facilities all provided Plenty of storage Pleasant reception staff

Hotel in need of some upgrade/refurbishment Pool nice but area grubby and run down. Especially changing room. Breakfast overcooked and was seated in the middle which wasn't nice. Room change was ok except fan outside window kept me awake all night which was not ideal.

Good location. Staff all fab. Changed room which was done easily and smoothly without fuss. Dinner was good. Room good size . Hotel very quiet although that is not good for business.

The charge for each person to use the internet both had to pay to use the room was very basic advertised sky but no sky usb socket in wall not working lights with no switches a couple using the room only one towel provided no phone in room had to keep walking to reception for missing items shower inside bath very slippery when shower in use I am disabled so had to shower was a bit scared to move around as it was like a skating rink once you started using soap shampoo ect Breakfast was OK small portions but good variety

Such a shame, used to be a good hotel and is a lovely building now very dated and used as a cheap overnight stop for contractors. Space totally unloved and not used to its potential. Staff not particularly interested.

Room very small. Bathroom door hanging off hinges and unable to close. Electric room heater not working, room very cold(15.5c). No mirror in bathroom. Bed mattress springs “pinging” with every movement. No lift. Kettle just about fitted under water tap.
