Great hotel in a lovely location. The staff were brilliant 👏. We had dinner, which was very good and a lovely breakfast to set us up for the day. The bar was well stocked with local ales and local drinkers who were all very friendly. We will definitely return on our next visit to the area.

NOTHING everything was more than I could wish for from a period property

The breakfast was excellent plenty of choice the rooms were very tastefully decorated and very comfy bed with beautiful linnen also lovely shower with lots of power exceptional service from every member of the team and lovely selection at dinner

The room could’ve been slightly cleaner, mainly the shower which had a ball of someone else’s hair in it, a few cobwebs and hadn’t been hoovered but saying that I am quite particular and do have quite high standards. It was absolutely fine and comfortable otherwise.

The breakfast, which was included in the price, was perfect. Cooked to perfection and very tasty. We had a meal there on the evening which was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault the service or the staff. The hotel is situated in a perfect spot for exploring the area.

Our stay was wonderful! The food was delicious, and the location was perfect. There is no parking right at the pub but we were pointed to a nearby free parking. Highly recommended!

Had minor heating issue on arrival but staff were helpful with this and once resolved room was warm and cosy. Our only suggestion is a small coffee table that you could put near the chairs to put mugs on would make for perfection and a faultless room.

Loved the location the room was large and spacious beautifully decorated. Bathroom was really clean too. The chairs in the room were a great idea they were so comfortable and made sitting watching tv whilst having a coffee a pleasure. Breakfast was really well cooked poached eggs were perfection breakfast room was very pleasant and again well decorated and clean. Really liked the side door exit onto the main street instead of going through the pub when it was busy All in all would definately recommend. Congratulations to the owners on providing a great experience.

Like all hotels, it was too warm. And breakfast was too late in the morning for us 8.30am start 😟

It was the perfect location for a quick visit to attend a funeral. It was quiet, comfortable and clean.

Check in was a little hectic, via a very busy teatime bar. Was shown to our room but could just have done with a little more information regarding breakfast and seating. There are no dogs allowed in the main dinning area but wasn't informed we could leave our dog in the room.

Lovely lively pub in the centre of Bedale. We enjoyed a tasty dinner down in the bar which is dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and so were the locals. Our room 4 was nicely decorated and furnished, clean and comfortable. It looked onto the rear of the pub which made it quiet. The bed was really comfy with good quality linen. The bathroom was compact but adequate. Breakfast was nice could have done with slightly more choice on the continental side for the price point. Great stay and would recommend.

Friendly welcoming people. Room was clean and finished to a high standard. You would have to be very picky to find fault Breakfast was freshly cooked and again of a high standard. Food dining options and quality for dinner were both excellent and good value. Free car parking was available outside the property via a disc system

This isnt really a major, as we were at front of hotel, some early morning delivery noise in the street below, but only from 7am onwards,and we did stay a weekday, and its such a great bustling little town, its only to be expected, otherwise, a great nights sleep, very quiet!

Staff lovely, couldnt be more helpful, beautiful dog friendly room, more amenities than you get in much more expensive hotels. Probabaly best cooked breakfast we've had away from home! Great location for surrounding areas, and plenty going on in town itself!

The wall mounted shower gel container was empty. Waited about 20 minutes at breakfast just to be offered tea or coffee. It wasn’t busy. The conservatory/restaurant was freezing until I turned the radiator on beside our table. Nobody asked how the food was etc at either dinner or breakfast. Just little niggles that detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay
