How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

They don't give more water. So better take water from the market downstair. Except that everything was okay.
Breakfast was good. There are varieties and especially really like the "Greek yogurt"; three types there, low fat, normal, mixed berries. Room was big and really comfortable. Located in the center of city so everything is in walkable distance. I walked to the port and it was okay. 15mins And there is a parking lot which you have to pay but it is there. And market in the same building which is very convenient.

Very nice room that looked to be recently updated. Close (2 blocks or so ) to the central shopping/dining area of Heraklion. Fantastic breakfast. It was about a 10 minute walk from the ferry.

Location was great, hotel has better parking prices at the nearby car parking, than booking directly at the parking. Breakfast has good variety of food.

Price for the facility given was higher Was not quiet. I could hear foot steps of people walking and airplanes flying

Great room and location just behind the nice old town center. Good breakfast. 3 minutes by car to ferry departures. Fast check in and check out.

There was a constant annoying sound in the room, not sure what it was from.
Room was spacious, had everything needed, good air con, daily service. The hotel is well located, close to shops, museum etc Breakfast has everything but the cooked food was very greasy. The staff was very nice and super fair; I arrived a day late by no fault of mine (ferry didn’t show up) and the hotel changed my arrival date so that I wouldn’t pay for that first night and I also to leave early and, without me asking for anything, they gave me a discount on the price for the night I wouldn’t spend in the hotel.

Nothing to complain. Better than name brand hotels.
Breakfast was very good and excellent ! Best choices ever seen in America and Europe !! Excellent timings as well for breakfast. Excellent and very helpful staff members ! Interacted with Anna who helped us for our stay to giving directions to making trips across the island which we thoroughly followed exactly and worked in our 3 day stay there. It made our trip very amazing to Crete! Anna outstanding person and always willing to help ,carry baggage to your room, to answer any questions and always smiling . She should be considered for definitely a managerial person for sure in the future. Also, younger staff girl was very helpful.

The location of hotel was excellent, in the middle of dining and vining places. Hotel stuffs were always smiling, polite and helpful for any issues. Finally breakfast was also very diverse and tasty.

I understand that this is a difficult thing to change but rooms have a central air conditioning system. This means that although you can adjust the temperature or turn it on/off, if the building is set on heat, it's impossible to put your own room on cold and vice versa.
Overall I had a very positive experience staying at Ibis and would stay again. Very comfortable room. Great service. Central and convenient location.

On the side we were in, at night we were bothered by the noise from the bar below. Thankfully it stopped around midnight, but our little daughter couldn't sleep well. The windows did little to nothing for mitigating the noise. Elevators were not smooth, especially the right hand side one would shake and was frightening.
Great location, right in the center of Heraklion. Parking on the same building, with reduced prices for guests -9 euros for a 24h stay. Very clean room, complimentary water in the minibar, along with sweets. Breakfast was very good and fresh, and there was a large selection of items, traditional and not. Staff were on top of cleaning. Heating was silent in our room, yet very effective.
