Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt is isolated and can only be reached by foot or a buggy since it is down a very narrow road. The resort is very accommodating and will take you and pick you up very quickly but it does add time to every trip to and from the resort.
It was very quiet and serene away from the hustle and bustle of ubud yet close enough to venture out.

AustraliaThe only minor downside was the location as it’s connected by some very skinny roads suited to motorbikes only. The shuttle just about makes it down but you need to be a confident motorbike driver to go back and forth and beware some of the shortcuts are scary rides - about 3ft in width with rice paddies on either side! 15 mins drive to centre on scooter, or 20-30 mins in a car with the traffic. Anyway it is out of the of hotels control and didn’t really affect our stay! The shuttle buggy comes quickly from the taxi point (which has wifi) and is not far.
Such a charming resort! Really has a small, family feel but the quality and service are very commendable for the price point. We revelled in the traditional Balinese decor and landscaping. The main pool and hot pool are both so lovely and well maintained. We had a ground floor room with balcony and it was very spacious and peaceful, comfy bed and tasteful furnishings. We organised a motorbike hire and the Mt Batur hike through Reception and both were of reasonable cost and sorted very quickly. Lastly, we LOVED the included breakfast with the hotel. There were so many options, western and Balinese alike, and all delicious. We never had a better mie goreng in the week we spent in Bali. It was served quite quickly and included fruit, juice, an option of breads and tea and coffee. Would love to come back here.

IndiaI wouldn’t say that I did not like it, but the location is a little bit far, which comes with its own benefits of having the peace enquired, but to get to the main property, you can only use a bike and not a car.
The property is beautifully breathtaking, we were upgraded to a one bedroom pool villa and the staff was ever so helpful and smiling, no matter what the request, this is one of the first places I have stayed at where the staff calls you and asks you to come for breakfast! I think that is personalisation to a different level.

IrelandOther people's negative comments about the place!
This is a beautiful hotel, just outside the craziness of Ubud. For us, it was an oasis of calm from the traffic and crowds. The location has a lovely charm to it. You arrive at their drop zone, and they bring you on a 3 minute electric car journey to the hotel. The journey brings you along a narrow path through beautiful rice fields where farmers tend to their crops and ducks gather for their underwater meals. It's a lovely, short scenic drive, but most importantly, it feels authentic. We also walked this path many times instead of getting picked up. We stayed in 2 different rooms there (we extended by 1 day so had to choose a new room) the first time we stayed in a bungalow which was really nice. The second was a more modern room upstairs. This was actually a nicer, more comfortable room. The pool is really nice and perfect for when the weather gets really warm. The spa at the resort was glorious. We did a 3 hour treatment, full body massage, scrub, facial, and foot massage followed by a herbal bath and stone chamber. Well worth what we paid and it relaxed us after the long journey. The location is outside ubud approx 1.5km. This is a good thing depending on what you want from Ubud. We walked to the center many days, but it's just easier to get a grab due to the heat. Lastly, the staff there were amazing, friendly, attentive, helpful, and always smiling. Thank you to them all! Stay here it's beautiful.

Beautiful hotel. The grounds are so so stunning. Staff were amazing. Even the cheapest room was very nice. We had one room upgraded to a pool villa due to an error in the booking process. It was beautiful and is worth the extra cost if you can afford it!

MaldivesYou can hear other guests very well into your room, if they happen to talk loudly outside on their patios or the pool area.
Lush and green, out of the town noisiness. Shuttle service is a nice idea but takes a long time due to traffic, riding a scooter is faster. Staff was friendly.

United Arab EmiratesThe food, whilst nice, was slightly limited in the options and didn't quite live up to the standards of the rest of the resort. Always nicely presented but smallish portions and slightly lacking.
The spa was great and so relaxing, staff were super friendly and welcoming-super responsive sending the buggy for pick up. The grounds and hotel's general ambience were wonderful; so beautiful-especially the bathroom. Thank you for an amazing stay

NetherlandsHonestly nothing. There was a little drive to and from the pick-up spot which could have been a downside, but the drives in the buggy were always so enjoyable, so it was actually a plus.
Everything was amazing. The staff, the room, the pool, the rice fields. I have had a couple of days in paradise. I have already recommended this play to many of my friends and I'll be back as soon as I can. Thanks for everything!

Loved my stay at Arya Arkananta. The hotel is excellent The bungalow accommodation is beautiful and the outside bathroom really special in nature. The staff were amazing , friendly and professional. They were so kind when I was unwell. The hotel is in the most beautiful location surrounded by rice fields. Taxis needed for Ubud however hotel offers a courtesy bus which was great. Hope to visit again soon thank you so very much to everyone who made my stay special

SwitzerlandWe stayed in the private one-bedroom honeymoon villa and it was absolutely lovely. The villa is beautiful and charming, and the pool was amazing especially in the heat. Everything was very clean and in good condition. The staff are definitely a highlight: Everyone was very friendly, kind, and helpful. Many speak English very well, which was much appreciated given our limited Indonesian. The room included breakfast and afternoon tea, which were delicious and very welcome given how expensive Ubud itself is. The menus for breakfast alternate every two days, and the afternoon tea snack changed each day. The variety was much appreciated. We also ate at the hotel on Nyepi, and the food is good quality and not that much more expensive than restaurants in Ubud center. The location is wonderful as well: Quiet and peaceful in the middle of rice paddies, but close to Ubud center by taxi, bike, or shuttle (or walking, but some parts of the walk are on busy roads so be cautious). We took the yoga class offered by the hotel one morning, which we very much recommend! The instructor was excellent, and the yoga pavilion with the view of the rice paddies is a beautiful touch. I also got a massage at the spa, which was very lovely (though notably more expensive than spas in Ubud center).

NetherlandsI had lizzards in my room, which is innevitable since it's in the middle of the rice field. The staff helped me get them out. The lizzards are friendl tho and stay on the walls, but I was not used to them growing up in Europe. I had some dietary restrictions. they asked for my restrictions when I checked in, in some days they remembered and in some nights they didn't, it was frustrating to repeat every time the whole list. The spa was very good, they might need to consider sound proofing some rooms (lathough not a big deal) The gym needs to be cooled before any guest uses it.
It's a quiet place, in the middle of the rice fields. I booked a longer stay for relaxation. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable and I had everything I needed. the bathroom is big with a bathtub and a shower. The staff is friendly. I used the gym, pool and spa, all good. They have a shuttle to the center of Ubud. Overall it was a very good stay.

United KingdomRoom with private pool very dark. Not much choice on eating establishments nearby, one probiotic and one vegan. Hotel didn’t offer wine, only beer. Private pool area not very special and unloved. Main pool too was a little shoddy.
Set in the paddy fields a 40 minute walk into Ubud, quiet.

GeorgiaThe only thing I can think of is the window in the bedroom didn’t have a blackout blind, so we had the light from the villa next door shining in although it wasn’t too bad as it was a powdered window.
This resort is absolutely gorgeous. Set on the edge of open rice fields with manicured gardens, it has the most relaxing and peaceful vibe. We stayed for only one night in the 2 bedroom villa and despite not using the spa or gym facilities we still had a fabulous time. The villa was spotless and super comfortable. We had enough space for our family of four plus my parents in law to drop by and lounge around - the villa is well decked out with several day bed choices in the open space. We were surprised that even despite the open living set up, there were barely any mosquitoes or bugs bothering us, and it was breezy and cool. I also really appreciated the extra touches - plate of fresh fruits in the fridge, fully equipped kitchen (much better than some air bnbs we’ve stayed!) and water dispenser. The staff were kind, friendly and very attentive, especially with our kids. we didn’t want to leave!

Beautiful place in Ubud. You really are in the jungle here! Great place to get away from it all and if you don’t want to be in the centre. Very safe and secure area. I loved the generous breakfast, super helpful and accommodating staff, special mention to Emi. Amazing huge rooms and outdoor bathrooms and enormous bath. The spa is well worth a visit - best massage I had in Bali, hands down. Worth getting a room with a pool for an afternoon dip. Great bar just up the road too for lunch
