The stairs to the second level balcony rooms were quite steep so they may not suit people with mobility issues or heavy luggage (although the staff carried our luggage!). Also not for people who are not comfortable with insects, lizards etc. found in beachside jungle areas. Lots of local people selling stuff on the beach.

Great location, right on the beachfront at a top snorkeling spot. The rooms were as shown on-line - a bit jaded and faded but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The aircon worked well and there was a small fridge in the room. The bathroom had a a bath with a shower, not a separate shower. Lounges were supplied on the beach and snorkel masks and fins could be rented for a small fee. A flask of hot water, tea and coffee were brought to the room every morning. Breakfast was great - fresh fruit and delicious pancakes. Excellent value for the low tariff.

Right on the beach at a great snorkeling spot. Great value for money, could spend all day on the sun loungers and snorkel all day. Food was great there. The accommodation is very basic, the small hotel is a bit run down but the aircon works really well and the rooms are spacious with clean bathrooms and a small fridge.

Hotel itself was great, little bit dissappointed in Amed itself, a footpath on the street needs to run right along the road to make walking easier, beach not the easiest to walk on.

Beach was great for snorkelling, room was excellent value for money, location was very good in respect to snorkelling.

Located Directly at the beach in front of great koral reef - here you are swimming in colorful fish. The Blue Star have consequently been my first choice - the hotel is very well functional, great staff, the rooms I normally select are with sea view. It’s all old, charming and just like I prefer. Value for your good money

A minor detail but the sheets on the bed weren't fitted and kept slipping off the corners, exposing the mattress. The air conditioning units appeared to be working quite hard to cool the room and might benefit from a clean of the filters.

The staff, food and location were fantastic. The rooms are a little tired but spacious. I liked their interest in sustainable reusable items, and I was happy to see each room had a gallon water drum in it for refills. They used fabric serviettes and metal straws. They were right on the beach and it was so peaceful and relaxing there. Nothing was impossible for the staff, they catered to our food requests and helped us celebrate a 16th birthday with cake and song.

The water pressure for the shower was a bit low, but that didn't matter much to us.

Darmi, Iluh, and the staff were all super welcoming, kind, and helpful! The bungalow was very nice, and you're just a few steps away from the beach. Great spot for snorkeling!

Darmi, Emi and their staff were so exceptional. They became our family. This is like a 5 star resort with budget accommodation cost. We felt like royalty and loved our stay. The food...everything on the menu was wonderful. We did not have anything we didn't like and we tried everything on the menu because we were there for 8 days. This property is a find. The room was spacious & comfortable, I loved it's quaint charm. Tea waiting on my verandah each morning was a delight, made better with the view straight to the ocean! The access is awkward and a surprise if you’re not expecting it. But really not a dealbreaker. Everything else more than makes up for that.

The attention to detail was so impressive. Tea/coffee making and flask of hot water delivered to your balcony before you wake up. Mosquito coils and candles kit made up and ready to go (not that we saw even one, but they were prepared). Hugh room and bathroom. The location couldn’t have been better. Amazing reef literally right in the water in front of the hotel. So many different types of beautiful fish! The hotel even hires out GoPro and will send you your pictures. Great food served for all meals. Wonderful staff. Staff can organise any kind of activity you may want.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Blue Star. Darmi and the staff were really helpful, honest and friendly. The location was perfect for families travelling together. Basic but comfortable rooms with good sleeping arrangements and large balconies overlooking the ocean. The large water dispenser and fridge in room, and make your own Bali coffee brought to the balcony each morning was great. Good restaurant and loved the included breakfasts.

We had amazing 3 nights at Blue Star! Super nice team, really good food, superb location! Snorkeled off the beach and enjoyed beautiful sea life. Great massage off the property. Our room was basic but that was what we expected and worked for us. Would be definitely back!!! Thank you Blue Star!

We booked Blue Star for the snorkelling location, were not disappointed it’s right out front just a few steps. Had ocean view room, simple clean and comfortable. Love the coffee delivery on patio every morning. Addicted to pineapple pancakes for breakfast. Every meal we had was good. Walk out to beach early morning turn left head around the point and you will see Agung in full glory. In the evening head up the hill behind Blue Star to Joli Best View for lovely sunset with a cold beer. The staff are lovely. Special thanks to Darmi and Iluh for making our stay so welcoming. If you have time add Lahangan Sweet to your stay, either sunrise or sunset it’s well worth it.
