Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Singapore1. Very not sound proof. There's double windows but even then I can hear the 5am prayers loud and clear. Very not recommended if your a light sleeper or want to relax in peace and quiet. 2. Staff are trying to be helpful but seem quite blur. Electricity went out one night and staff couldn't tell us what was going on when the electricity for the rooms was gone but the front desk and second second floor lights were working. No expected time for it to be fixed or torches provided. Luckily air con still worked. Staff keep taking our towels for washing (we didn't leave our towels on the floor which was what was instructed if we wanted the towels to be replaced) and not replacing them and when asked, staff said towels were still in the laundry???? But were able to give us the towels within 15min. 3. Air con is not very strong. I set it at 18 degrees and it felt like 24. 4. Some of the beds are very creaky.
1. Simple but clean and nice room. Bathroom is big. Shelf provided for hanging clothes and putting your stuff. 2. Water dispensers conveniently placed at every floor, there's also tea and coffee i think? 3. Mart just opposite, dive and tour shops all nearby. Honestly the town is not big and everything is quite accessible by walking.

United KingdomRestaurant was a bit too expensive.
We booked the family room for 4 of us and the room was spacious and clean. Location was good and easy walking distance to the harbours and restaurants etc.

United KingdomWhen we arrived (which was 3 hours after earliest check in) we were told they had no towels. We were understanding and took to the rooftop for a drink to watch the sunset and when we got back to our room we had towels to freshen up. The restaurant food was great a d reasonably priced and staff were friendly and we spent 2 nights eating here and paid for breakfast on the morning of our departure. We checked out but left our luggage in reception to take a walk before our pick up was due. When we returned to collect our luggage we were approached by a member of staff who directed a demand for a payment of 150,000 IDR from our daughter as they found a few spots of blood on her bedsheet. We had not noticed this and on inspection of their photo it was minimal but obviously the result of small bites on her legs from mosquitos. We had a triple room so I don’t know how they knew it was her bed as the room has 2 doubles??? I questioned why they needed payment and that they should be laundering sheets after each booking and that if they felt they needed to use specialist laundry service to wash blood from a sheet, the cost they were requesting was ridiculous particularly when you can launder a huge amount of laundry for that price. They suddenly dropped the price to 100,000 IDR but again I challenged this, resulting in us paying 50,000 IDR because we needed to leave to go the airport. The issue was not about the money but the principle - they stated costs were incurred due to damaged mattress which was not true, it was a dirty sheet and no mattress was stained. The manager was more amenable but the staff member who initially approached my daughter was demanding and unfriendly. Just pre warning others before you stay here. Room cleaned once during our 3 night stay and there is no tea/coffee facility in the room as described.
Rooms were basic but comfortable. Best thing about this hotel is the rooftop restaurant and the staff.

PortugalYou can hear the noise from the surroundings and the boats arriving to the harbour.
Central location in Labuan bajo. Small hotel, with nice details and bar/restaurant with great views. Beds were very comfortable, and the room was ideal for one night stay before going on a boat tour to komodo Islands.

VietnamSpa did not have manicure service or even simple nail clippers although they have it on the sign. I had a painful broken nail and they couldn’t help me. But it’s not a big deal. The problem was bad smell from the drains and neighbors noise. WiFi is terrible, don’t expect connection in the room. But all that does not matter one bit! We had an amazing time regardless!
The restaurant upstairs is very good. Views from the restaurant are amazing and breakfast boxes were good.

AustraliaThere was a sewer smell in the toilet. We kept the door closed so it didn't drift into the room. Generally, all things were tolerable. Soap dispenser in the shower didn't work well but I had my own shampoo and soap. The bed creaked every time we moved but didn't affect us too much.
Large bed, nice air conditioned room. The location is in the centre of the main street with all the dive shops. We didnt have any breakfast here because we left early every day but dinner was quite enjoyable. The food was a little more expensive than other places but had a better range of western food. The sambal was 👌🏼 but very spicy.

PolandLots of noises, both inside a room as well as during a massage I took - I do not recommend it here due to noises so it is hard to relax - you can hear all the noises from the street. Terrible wifi disconnecting all the time and it uses some portal so every time you connect you need to click a button in a web browser. Inconvenient location of the light switches on/off in the bathroom so we just left it as always on. People smoke on the top terrace so it’s hard to enjoy the view if you do not smoke.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and view from the restaurant on top. Reasonable prices

United StatesUnfortunately we couldn’t complete our reservation. We really liked the staff and the restaurant upstairs, but the room was quite noisy (not good sound isolation so every motorcycle outside would wake us up), the smell mentioned by others remain, and our bed was making a squawking noise…

IrelandStaff were pushy about adding breakfast. A lot of stairs with children. Card machine in bar didn’t work and I have to climb down 4 sets of stairs and back up again with 2 kids to pay. I should have been allowed to pay at reception or put in the room to help me. Our bed sheet was a bit dirty and had holes in it. It was well cleaned and smelt fresh but it was old and stained. The shower head was all rusted. I put a bathing suit over it to dry and it was stained by the rust and had to throw out.
Bamboo toothbrushes. Nice aircon. Quiet room. Good nights sleep. Had internal windows only which meant didn’t hear the traffic or the bars or the mosques which is hard to find in Labuan BAjo. Water to drink available at all times. Hot water showers. Great view from the bar. Let us leave our luggage for a few days whilst we went to Komodo for when we were staying with them when we came back Nice and centrally located. Everything is walkable.

GermanyI wish we could have smoother communication with the property. We tried emailed them for pickup at the airport, but nobody responded. Then, we tried to send WhatsApp message, but the number they put on Booking was wrong. In the end, we sent message via Booking to ask availability for pickup But as it was too last minute, we ended up didn’t use their pickup service and organized ourselves. Also, we asked for breakfast box because we have a day trip to the islands. But, there were some difficulties identifying which one is our breakfast box. I wish the staff that prepared it could have at least write an explanation in the box, so that we/the early morning staff could understand better. Also, we wish the quality of the breakfast box could have been at least “good”. We got two “durian” bread for each of us with some sodas. Luckily my husband likes durian and ate them. But, for people who have difficulties to eat durian, I think they could have been a bit more thoughtful about these options. Lastly, we had a bit of a concern about the cleanliness of the sheet. We have shared with the staff and I really appreciated how they took our constructive feedback.
I liked how the location is very close to the port. I really liked the restaurant and staff there. I ate the food in their restaurant for lunch and dinner, they were delicious.

Hong KongAs mentioned, our room didn’t have any windows so was dark to wake up in which may not appeal to some.
Loved the old wooden charm of the hotel as well as the harbour views from the upstairs restaurant. Slightly more pricey than some other ‘equivalent’ hotels in the area but still thought it was value for money. Rooms are nicely decorated although if you get a lower ground room (as we did) then no views, not even windows. Didn’t bother us for just the 1night we stayed but if you stay for longer then maybe request a room upstairs. Good breakfast options.

SingaporeGiven that it’s a two-star hotel, it’s expected that certain areas are slightly compromised. There’s no room makeup, no safety/deposit box for valuable items, no windows/views for the 2 bedder room, slightly squeaky bed, toilet has a funky smell… etc.
Location was really ideal! It’s along the stretch of restaurants, very near to most dive shops & jetty. Walking distance to many cafes as well. We love the location the most. We also think that the service quality and standard was great. We called them up at the last minute upon arrival to request for a car pick up and they efficiently arranged that at IDR 100k. From the domestic hotel, we reached the hotel in 5-8 minutes! Basic hotel amenities are provided like towel, toothbrush, shampoo, soap etc.
