Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBeautiful natural setting, lush, peaceful. Birds, rabbits, cats and geckos… it’s wonderful to stay at a very nice place with a touch of the wild. The staff and coffee were great, as was the onsite massage. I’d stay again.

Sri LankaNo air flow in huts or garden so not great for rainy season- clothes, towels, everything remained very damp for our whole stay. Lots of mosquitoes but no nets provided. Pool water was murky the first couple of days but cleared up.
Beautiful place. Lots of attention to detail. Breakfast was quite expensive but was excellent. Loved the double level huts and pool area. Felt very comfortable and luxurious and good value at low season price. I enjoyed using the empty yoga shala each morning (no classes running in low season). Staff were all lovely.

United KingdomThere was just a sheet on the bed - would be nice to have a thin duvet or some blankets available too.
Kelapa Cottage was a great stay in Amed. It's both close to the centre yet nestled away so that you're in the most peaceful setting. It was very quiet, and the pool was a lovely way to spend an afternoon relaxing. The room (King 1) was large with good storage, AC, and a lovely outdoor shower. The staff were so personable and very welcoming - great communication prior to and during the stay.

United KingdomIt was a wonderful place to stay and we would come again
Incredible gardens and grounds immaculately kept - and those bunnies! A fantastic swimming pool that our children loved. The rooms were comfortable and such a bonus to have the upper floor for the kids bedroom. Staff were really attentive and helpful, and the owner and his family were lovely to talk to and ensured we were welcomed. Location was great, cafes/bars in walking distance (take a torch at night for the road). We took a taxi on some days to the beaches further out, but you can walk to some closer by.

AustraliaThe mattresses were super uncomfortable. Very firm and can feel the springs. I woke up with a sore back each morning. We were only given a sheet. there are no duvets/ doonas on the beds so it’s either hot without aircon and using a sheet or too cold with aircon and no doona. I asked for a blanket and got a thin throw to add on which helped a little… The room we stayed in was at the front entrance near the road and neighbouring houses with lots of roosters and dogs. We woke up so many times to noises. However, the hotel did provide earplugs… The breakfast was super expensive for a sub average buffet breakfast. the restaurant was pretty dead really. saw 2 people in it the entire stay. I think they should include a basic breakfast from a menu at this hotel, esp as you have to walk 10mins into the centre and maybe another 5-10 to find a cafe for breakfast. the location is okay for Amed. the place is quite wide spread so if you had a scooter you’d be fine. otherwise my Partner and I who won’t ride scooters would have to walk an hour round trip each time to have a meal. However all hotels are spread so maybe this is just a problem for us as most guests will hire a scooter.
Loved the resort style and design. It’s a beautiful pathway that feels like you’re staying in a rainforest resort. They have pet bunny rabbits which is super cute!! The staff were lovely and super kind. The rooms are beautiful and come with water refills. Love the aesthetic!

AustraliaOur rooms were big but very dark. If i opened my curtains anyone in the restaurant or walking past could see right in. Food was good but would have been nice to see more local food options. A mini bar fridge would be good in the room.

Mario our host was very accommodating and allowed us to change rooms and looked after our every need. There is a really good selection of food in the restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and the pool very inviting. A lovely addition to the grounds is a pair of friendly rabbits. Thank you Mario and staff for a wonderful stay.
