Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalGiven the exclusivity of the restaurant's hotel, more microwaves should be installed so the guests could have a cheaper alternative to dine outside the hotel.
I enjoyed the location of the hotel, specially as it was near the principal train and subway lines. The room was clean and good enough to provide the deserved rest after a day of waking around the city.

PhilippinesI wasn't entirely satisfied with the location of this hotel. The other APA Kabukicho would have been a better choice, as it's closer to the main tourist attractions and more convenient for sightseeing.
The room was clean and, despite its small size, the design made the most of the available space. I especially loved the free use of kimonos. I also like that there's mini stop nearby.

United KingdomThe APA hotels are very standardised experience. Small rooms, but with great amenities and a fab location for exploring the different cities of Japan. Can’t fault it and would happily stay here again. This particular APA was very well located in a lively part of shinjuku

United KingdomSmall room, but space underneath the bed for luggage, felt ventilation system could be better in the room, no staircase to access except for emergency situations, dryers in laundry room were not working properly so people were spending more than 2 hours drying their clothes. There was a laundromat 2 minutes down the road though.
Clean room, we were given a room on a high floor as we requested, helpful staff, clean towels provided daily, convenient location for Shinjuku and access to other areas of Tokyo.

AustraliaRoom was small which was expected prior to booking, location was good but the walk from Shinjuku station with luggage (bit over 10 minutes) felt challenging. Overall a good stay with minimal negative points!
The hotel was nice and the facilities provided everyday were great. They were able to store our luggage easily for a few hours after checking out, and made the whole process very easy. Free alcohol on arrival as well!

AustraliaIt was noisy at night from the police and ambulance sirens. We unfortunately did not do our research as It is on the fringes of the red light district but like I say that was our fault.
It was close to public transport. Self service check out. Luggage storage option. Clean. Convenient. Washing machine and dryer available. Polite staff. Daily replenishment of toiletries.

IndonesiaNothing. But this hotel is just too popular. Sometimes/ almost always crowded in the lobby.
This is a perfect hotel for solo traveler. The room is -- though small -- exceeds my expectation in term of functionality. Super comfy bed, great lighting, excellent wifi, bathroom with high powered shower and futuristic toilet (Japan standard). My kind of hotel..

New ZealandCheck in was very complex, was the longest check in out of the several hotels I stayed at in Japan due to a very onerous touch screen, having a person help would have been quicker. I wasn't helped with my bags and given a free drink at check in which was nice but trying to hold a key card, the drink, and two suitcases was awkward in a very narrow reception area. Luggage storage was also difficult you had to scan a QR code for access to the lobby internet to be able to then scan a QR code for storage. Of course you can't scan the QR code for the internet without having internet first. As a tourist running out of data this was a pain and myself and the staff got frustrated trying to do the storage which again would have been quicker withoutt relying on technology. At other hotels in Japan the staff simply did this and it was easier.
Breakfast was tasty but could have used more hot Western options given its in a tourist heavy area Nice cosy pajamas included and bathtub in the room! Good location and view of Tokyo
