CyprusUpon checkout, we settled the invoice with our additional checks (there was no time to check it on the spot). Later, I examined the copy of the invoice given to us and noticed an extra check for $54. On the same day, February 16, I wrote an email to invoicing@velassaru.com requesting a recheck of this check and to send me a photo of it with my signature. However, a week passed, and there was no response, even after sending reminders through the booking.com platform. Only on February 24, they sent me a photo of the check with someone else's signature and promised a refund - eight days after my initial contact. This timeframe for resolving such issues seems unreasonably long. My email was simply ignored for a whole week. The fact of the extra check is not so alarming, as human error is understandable, mistakes happen. But the fact that the hotel staff did not rush to resolve this situation and assist me is very disappointing. It's important not only to have a good attitude towards guests before and during their stay but also after. We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and $54 is a small amount; we left more in tips. But to tarnish the impression of the hotel due to such attitude from the staff is extremely unpleasant.

The place has been wonderful. It has been the amazing break in winter. The resort is a reality of sun, warm ocean and white sand. Our request of villa’s location was supported by the reservation team. We had more privacy locating a little bit far to main points. Villa was perfect with a direct access to the beach and lagoon. We were swimming all dayslong. It should be mentioned a level of cleanliness everywhere – it seems to me people worked 24/7 – the sand was always without any leaves. What’s more, for example, once you just thought to change the towels they appeared and changed. The breakfast was marvelous – fresh juices you like, a lot of fruits, fresh yogurts and so on – everything for your health. Complimentary sunset yoga classes were really great. If I had stayed more than a week I would have taken an individual class. The dinner in the main restaurant (Vela) should have been more variety – more options. For me a la carte restaurants proposed more interesting dishes. Only one point is not comfortable for me. Being a coffeeholic I expected a coffee machine in all rooms in 5 star hotel and did not check that there was not in this category of room so I was suffering of a lack of coffee when I like and having some coffee detox))) Anyway it was fantastic time there. We could recommend to visit the resort with BB plan and dine around.

Beautiful, laid back, quiet resort. So many wonderful little things that we loved. They have an ice cream cart that drives around and gives free ice cream daily, they provide flip flops that imprint their name in the sand, they have an amazing pool that sparkles at night, they offer movies outdoors on the sand, and you can connect to your personal Netflix/Amazon Prime accounts for the days you just want to stay in, and the staff at this fabulous resort go above and beyond to please! The beaches are spectacular and the beds were super comfy! The food is decadent at all 5 restaurants with lots of options. There is nothing one could complain about!!! We will be going back❤️

everything is perfect on this island: cleaning 3 times, all the service from the staff is wonderful, the chef was preparing noodles for breakfast when he found out that I am from Korea. The island itself is well-kept, there are different seas on different sides, the reef is nearby accessible from the beach, there is a diving activity center on any taste, they gave diving equipment for the entire stay, the spa is wonderful

The resort is located 20 minutes from Male Airport and also you’re in south male area. The resort has great facilities from a tennis court, gym, dive centre, lounge/library room, amazing restaurants and a beautiful spa I’ve seen to date. The staff are polite, friendly and extremely hardworking. The beach is awesome and when snorkelling you are bound to see plenty of exotic fishes. I was lucky to see eagle rays and black tip sharks from my pool villa.

AustriaWe came back to Velassaru after 10 years and our time there was sensational. What really stands out is the natural beaty of the island. During our stay, we have seen dolphins, manta rays, sea turtles and sharks. Furthermore, the hotel staff is incredibly friendly and competent. Big complements also to the sous chef Wasantha and his team. We will come back very soon!
