Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsDated but clean. Not really a vibrant/lively place if you compare it to the other hotels around. We stayed for 3 nights that was to long in our opinion. Next to the main road. Next time I would choose a hotel a little further down the road, more quiet. Balcony, but could not sit on it: aircon filled it + no chair(s). That was a setback when travelling with our todler. Smalle beds and short (Queen size).
Size of the room. Aircon. Clean. Good shower pressure. Neigbhourhood.

United KingdomThe hotel just felt a little unloved a bit lacking in investment. Simple things could improve it. A love of plants or gardens would be an immediate winner but the breakfast and dining areas could be made more exciting too
Location is excellent. In the heart of Palenque and close to the ADO Bus station. Nearby is the Canada region with good access to good restaurants. The rooms are a decent size, and there is a (little chilly!) decent sized swimming pool

The hotel is at the beginning of the pedestrian street in Canada Area. Close you can find a lot of restaurants.

CanadaNothing.
Nice little budget hotel literally across the street from the ADO Terminal and the pickup point for the buses to the ruins. The room was spacious and clean, the grounds were nice, and the area (La Canada) is very nice with a number of great restaurant options. Very good value for the money.

United KingdomHot water took its time to come out for a shower.
We chose this hotel because of its location opposite the ADO coach station as we had tickets to Villahermosa airport for a midday flight to Mexico city.

BelgiumInternet connexion in our room was not good. We did not find the staff very friendly. Even though we cannot speak Spanish and they may not speak English. A friendly smile can help. We felt that we were not entirely welcome. We found the hotel quite expensive for what it was.
Spacious room and great pool and garden.

United KingdomThere are no elevators inside so if you’re not good with stairs request a ground floor room in advance. This didn’t bother me but might others.
Great location next to the bus station, and it has a large free car park if you’re driving. The hotel is nice, a little dated, but clean. The outside pool area is lovely however no one around if you want to order food or drinks so take your own. Good location for walking into the town down the Main Street, and close to the minivans if you want to explore any of the local sites. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed.

BelgiumMind you that this is not a 4 star hotel according to European standards. It’s too basic for a 4 star hotel. No breakfast service. Dim lighting in the room. There was no hot water in the shower in the afternoon, only in the morning. I selected this hotel because of its garden and expected to relax a bit, however, the hotel is located right next to a busy road so there is quite some streets noise.
Location was great. Right across from the ADO station and in walking distance from colectivo’s to the ruins and Roberto Barrios waterfalls. Room was cleaned daily. Towels for the pool. Bed was comfy enough, not as hard as elsewhere.

NetherlandsIn general, the hotel needs a renovation. The rooms and the pool area are outdated. The airco can only be on or off and there was a weird smell in the room. The pool area can be much nicer if it the maintenance was more on top, it’s a pity!
The hotel is close to the bus station and in a nice neighborhood. The staff was friendly.
