Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyNothing about the property but more about the island that really needs some environmental attention and education. Too much plastic around. Before arriving the communication was a bit misleading especially regarding the airport shuttle. Actually is very easy to get to the island from Semporna but, of course, we tried to explain that is not so easy to understand before (when someone is organizing their trip).
Angah made us feel like we were at home. The property has just few rooms and is in a strategic position (but it’s an island so most of them are). We did scuba diving and he made us decide when and where. All the staff were very friendly and helpful when we needed. They also helped us to get permits for Sipadan Island. The room was simple but just on the sea. With stunning sunset every day.

AustraliaFacilities are just OK. Water heated by the sun (acceptable temperature though) - cannot complain!
Friendly and lovely staff; interesting experience staying above the water; short distance to go diving; good food!

United KingdomVery basic facilities that would be improved with just a little more care and attention - for example, the shared toilets aren't great.. Don’t expect a luxury resort, but that was fine by us as the place/location is just incredible.
Laid back and down to earth based in the local community. Beautiful location. Great tower - watching turtles swim by at night.

SloveniaWe paid very little for the meals (3€), but nevertheless, there were cases when all the food was gone, and not provided for everybody.
We liked the atmosphere, and very relaxed, good, and reasonably priced snorkeling trips. Great location!

NetherlandsBasic facilities like toilets and showers should be updated. A lot of it is broken. Wouldn’t recommend going to Mabul island if you’re not a diver.
Friendly people, great diving, nice view and local feel.

FranceThe rooms & bathrooms are basic and need a bit of refresh. But it is part of the charm of the place.
We really liked this place. Perfect location, right in front of the sunset. Food very good and fresh. And the best thing is the staff. This is a family owned business and this is exactly what we were looking for our scuba diving sessions. I even decided to do my Advanced with them and it was great. Ramzee is a very good diving guide, equipment is nice and you feel super safe. Again thank you Ramzee and the team :) NB : For the boat, if you contact them in advance, they can arrange you to be in the same as other guests. Then you can share the fees.

MalaysiaNothing it was as the write up. I moved to another accommodation as was pre booked but wished I had stayed as the vibe was perfect.
This place has a perfect view of the sunset, great food and very friendly and welcoming people. Had a bbq one night which was delicious. It is peaceful and back to basics but clean and tidy. The hosts Azo and Dean were brilliant and made me feel unbelievably welcome and couldn't be more helpful. Wish I had dived with them and hadn't precooked it with another company.

NetherlandsWas a bit shocked by the island itself. There are many people living here, mostly former sea gypsies and it is clear that they have yet to find out how garbage management works. Lots of single use plastics are everywhere.
Host was most friendly, really made me feel welcome. Food is home cooked and very delicious and fresh. Rooms are very simple and a bit worn off by the salt and sun but I expected this due to the history and location of the island. Bed was comfi however, and they have a large area to sit and relax. Sunset views and visiting sea turtles were magnificent! Diving was wonderful too, with good equipment and boat.

AustraliaThe owners did not greet me so I did not have a chance to ask them about a boat transfer off the island or other questions I had. You can only pay for the accommodation and diving services in cash or international bank transfer, which was not made clear on the booking.com profile or information provided before arriving on the island so I did not have enough cash. A FYI, the facilities are very basic and there is no air conditioning. The toilet waste is poured into the ocean below, and there were no signs to remind foreigners not to flush paper so I saw others flushing it down. The board walk to the island is precarious.
The staff, especially diving staff and students, were all helpful and friendly.

Germanywe have absolutely nothing negative to say about Spheredivers. Just a general tip: Sipadan is overpriced. I booked two days there, but after diving both Mabul and Sipadan, I wish I had only booked one day in Sipadan and spent the rest of my time with Spheredivers around Mabul.
Amazing place for your next diving/snorkeling holidays. The rooms were clean and cozy, the view amazing, the food delicious and Angah immediately made us feel at home. He is a very knowledgeable dive guide and found us the pygmy seahorse, frogfish, ghost pipefish, and even a Pikachu nudi. We were a mixed group with one beginner and one advanced diver and he was very patient and attentive to our beginner while keeping an eye on everyone. So if you are thinking about getting into diving, this would be a great place to get certified (at a fair price). But also our advanced diver had a blast and going on more advanced dives together (e.g. deeper to see the pygmy seahorse) was super fun. The place is not too big, which gives you the chance to have a personalized trip. A big shoutout to the Spheredivers team, this was all in all an exceptional experience.

PeruI stayed for 2 nights to take the AOW course, and it was great! The staff is very nice, they helped me a lot with my scuba diving skills, and also helped arranging a tour to Sipadan. The place is very nice. There is an amazing view of the sunset, and sometimes you can see turtles in the see from the terrace.
