How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is along a passing street but you can request to be put on the other side if you are sensitive to the noise

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel very close to Kuching center. The staff was very helpful, breakfast was good and different everyday. Overall excellent for the money we spent. Our room 301 faced a secondary street so we didn't hear any traffic from the main road in front of the hotel.

Nothing My only comment is how breakfast is set up..... the location of the toaster and coffee can cause some congestion

The road is really loud during the night, so definitely bring ear plugs. Breakfast could have more vegetarian options.

Air conditioning was set to 18C and on full blast yet the room was never cold enough. Windows were pretty thin - we heard noises from outside and were on quite a high floor. When we arrived we found at least 8 long black hairs on our pillows which is gross. Our room was serviced every day and we didn’t see this again but still not a good thing to arrive to. Some parts of the buffet breakfast could have been a bit warmer and fresher, even when we arrived at 7am, as soon as it started.
Nice big hotel with professional vibe. 24hr front desk with good service, receptionist sorted a mini fridge for our room and booked us an early morning taxi for our departure. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. Shower is great. Breakfast was okay, the make-your-own Sarawak Laksa was nice. Wifi was good for the majority of time. Location good, good food options around.

The property was in a good position bedroom was ok and bathroom. It looked a little run down. The staff were nice and breakfast was good. There are plenty of bars and restaurant’s all around the hotel.

The staff is very pleasant and efficient. The location is excellent, the breakfasts very good and varied, tested over 2 x 2 days. The only downside, the insulation in the rooms, not fantastic.

Great hotel. We arrived at 3 in the morning on a very late flight. Not a problem, fast, efficient check-in. Good-sized room, with everything we needed, including tea/coffee. The hotel is right by new Chinatown which is a really nice street with long arcades and loads of Chinese businesses and food//cafè stops. Love the atmosphere here. Definitely go to see the Orangutangs! Amazing sight in a really nice jungle park. There's a free bus (103) from and back to the city or hop into a Grab. Bla Bla Bla is an amazing Chinese restaurant - go there hungry as the food is delicious and the portions are generous.
