How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Entrance to the parking in the dark: No button to press, no bell to ring, at least I could not find one. Since the parking is 25 per night, I took the risk and left the car in the street, free of charge.
Nothing was better than expected. Neither was it worse. So all good

The bathroom soap was too hard for me to squeeze. The breakfast was a bit expensive for all of us.
It was so hard to find a hotel for the 9 of us. I organised the hotel for me and my friends and they made sure we were happy with our rooms. The bed was so comfortable everyone slept so well. The area is just outside Amsterdam and the train can be accessed just around the corner. I'll definitely book again.

I plugged the kettle in and cause a power cut to my whole room. But irt was fixed very quickly.
Location was good i had a conference at the RAI and its a short walk to the Metro and 1 stop to the RAI

The mattresses were the only low point of the stay because they were very soft.
The accomodations are very cosy, everything is clean and the staff is very nice.

Very loud tour group placed in rooms around me. They were standing in hall yelling & going room to room slamming doors. Asked them to be quiet as after midnight & I had work. Eventually had to call reception to sort out. Normally, not an issue at this hotel! Obviously not a hotel problem…
Always a reliable stay—clean, comfortable room with a powerful, hot shower. Location ideal for public transport & local restaurants/bars. Staff friendly & pizza available 24/7.

The room was clean and cozy. It was nice to see the outskirts of Amsterdam, as it is less touristy’ It is also conveniently a good 10 minutes walk from the tram stop, to where there is shops and restaurants on the way. For the location, whilst it wasn’t central - the prices were much more kinder to my pockets than what the other hotels would have been!

The room was on the ground floor next to the parking. The heating was boiling hot and very difficult to adjust. It was not possible to open the window.
The hotel is very well connected to the center. The lobby is welcoming and with good services. The staff has been very nice. The bed was super comfy.

The room was facing the highway, but the noise was acceptable, no complaints there. You pay extra for the parking, wich is normal on such a location, so also no complaints there.
We were there for the Amsterdam marathon. The hotel was good for such an event. Basic but everything was there. Location was ok, we brought our bikes along. Although i would advise a hotel near to the site, after a marathon every km is a km to much :-) We didn't get a breakfast because we needed a special breakfast for running optimal.

the room doesn't have a windows to an outdoor place, so you didn't have any fresh air.
Comfy beds, 4 individual beds ideal for visiting with friends. Not to much noise in the morning and during the day

There was no soap in the bathroom. And for some cleaning service instead of bringing soap brought a pile of extra towels, which were absolutely not necessary. :)
Great breakfasts, cozy rooms, friendly staff, great Christmas decorations, and a very responsive reception desk. The hotel is close to the tram stop which goes directly to the city center and the subway stop (7-10 m walk), making a journey to the airport extremely fast (30-35 m).

The rooms were clean but each day they lacked detail in cleaning (eg. Dirty glasses left from day 1 till checkout on day 4 etc). Dinner choices in restaurant were slim but what we had was enjoyable.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The tram stop was only a 5 minute walk away making it very easy to get into town. I would stay here again if I was back in Amsterdam!
