Clean, cosy and warm room. Tasty breakfast. Free coffee and tea. Many bathrooms - despite they are shared, the were always available. Also, the location is quite remote - to the city center is 2km.

Our radiator only had on and off mode, nothing in between. However we soon learned how long to turn it on and off go get a good temperature.

We liked that it was located outside the 'city center'. Very quiet and cosy. Shared bathrooms where good size, clean and always had soap, toilet paper etc. We really liked the beds! Thick curtain kept the light out at night. Breakfast was good too! Coffee always free for guests.

Breakfast was poor. It’s a bit far to walk to town.

Spacious room. Comfortable enough. Better price compared to other places closer to town.

We had a very nice stay at Coal miners cabin! We stayed here for 6 nights. The rooms are good with comfortable beds. The staff is friendly. Very good breakfast, although it is the same every day. We will come back here next time on Svalbard

The internet connection sometimes wasn't working in my building, so I had to go to the main building. It is about a 30 min walk to the supermarket and the center of the town, but the view is nice. Also, the airport bus stops at the hotel and any tours pick you up and drop you off at the hotel. There are 2 free shuttle busses from the center of town to the hotel late in the afternoon and early evening.

The views from the hotel are fabulous as you are up a valley and surrounded on 3 sides by mountains. The shared bathrooms were clean, big, had places for hanging clothes and were always available. A robe is included and it has pockets, so easier when going to the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Free coffee is available all day. Each building has a lounge, and a kitchen. There is also a lounge, bar, and restaurant in the main building. Overall, a great value and a great place to stay if you are on a budget and want to save some money.

Considering the prices in Longyearbyen, Coal Miners Cabin is a great value for money. The location is a bit remote, but still well within walking distance from the centre. We stayed in the economy room and is was quite basic as expected. The bathrooms were very comfortable and well maintained. There’s a common lounge room, well equipped kitchen with fridge, stove and microwave if you want to buy food at the supermarket and cook it yourself.

Showers could have been hot longer but it is the Arctic so....

Affordable place to make your base camp for Svalbard adventures. The staff was AMAZING, if you have the chance to talk to Ruth from Bristol, you will be utterly delighted! I was surprised that even as a hostel they left you nice robes and had house keeping tidy up daily. The common area had a great breakfast and a nice bar (and hot chocolate station!) and was a nice place to chill in the morning or the evening.

There may be no better place for people who are passionate about outdoor sports. It is located in Nybyen. Generally it is just next to the glacier Larsbreen, where many of the hiking tours start. But also within half an hour of walking distance (2-3km) you are in the town centre. The personal here is totally friendly and helpful, not to mention that they are 24x7 reachable. The rooms are clean. Honestly, I am always suspecious about shared toilets in hotels, but sofar I have seen they are held unsoiled and neat. It impresses me, although I booked a room with own toillet. The restaurant and bar of this hotel is also highly recommendable. They offer delicious meals and the personal obviously have a pretty good musical taste.

    The kitchen wasn't well equipped.

Very comfortable and clean room. Sharing the bathroom was not a problem because each floor has 4. Bathrooms were very cleaned. It was convenient to have use of the kitchen.

At first I liked the set up of the buildings that house the guests. They are old single men's quarters for miners from sometime ago. My room was OK with 2 single beds but I am 193 cm tall and I struggled with this type of bed. It's been 50+ years since I have used a single bed. But I knew this when I booked the unit. Breakfast was OK. The staff were nice. I stayed 3 days.

    Nothing, everything was perfect.

Honestly, I had a reservation for accommodation at Coal Miner's Cabins, but they moved my reservation to Radisson Blu Polar Hotel, which turned out to be even better for me. I cannot rate Coal Miner's Cabins, but Radisson Blu Polar Hotel was top-notch, and I was pleased with absolutely everything. I had initially booked a stay at Coal Miner's Cabins, but due to unforeseen circumstances, my reservation was relocated to Radisson Blu Polar Hotel. This change turned out to be a delightful surprise. The Radisson Blu Polar Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, making my stay in Svalbard an exceptional experience. The service at Radisson Blu Polar Hotel was outstanding. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always willing to assist with any request. Check-in was smooth, and I felt genuinely welcomed. The room I was allocated was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The attention to detail in the room's design and amenities was truly remarkable. I especially appreciated the beautiful view from my window, which added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. The hotel's dining options were also exceptional. I had the opportunity to savor delicious meals at their restaurant, and the variety of dishes on the menu catered to diverse tastes. The food was not only delectable but also beautifully presented. Furthermore, the location of Radisson Blu Polar Hotel was convenient, with easy access to city center. It made exploring the city hassle-free, and the hotel's concierge service was instrumental in providing valuable local insights and recommendations. Overall, my experience at Radisson Blu Polar Hotel was excellent, and I could not have been happier with the unexpected change in accommodation. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting [destination], as it offers a truly exceptional and enjoyable stay. Thank you to the staff for making my stay memorable.
