Where all of the bedrooms were in one long corridor the sound travelled very easily so it was quite noisy from people walking around all hours - and I felt there was no enforced quiet period for those who wished to sleep. There was noise from the street but that’s what comes with being in the centre of town. There was also next to no cooking area for pilgrims (who were the majority of guests when I stayed) so I could not cook any breakfast or even just make some hot water for a drink.

The location within Coimbra was perfect to be right in the centre to explore and near the train station. The staff were welcoming and friendly - they let me store my big backpack in a locker as I arrived before check in time which was kind of them. The decor of the staircase was brilliant and the rooms were good size, with each bed getting a light and charging port. The bathroom was very communal but clean.

Check in and everything is pretty much 'self service'. During my 2 night stay I didnt meet any staff in the property but if you buzz the door someone will answer you. Location is this hostel is one of the best.

- If the owner judges me to go in with two extra people because he mistook me for another person, it would be nice to get an apology instead of a "thank you". - Fridge far from rooms. - Impossible to use drinks machine if there is no receptionist.

- Comfortable bed. - Beautiful corridor. - Easy to check-in. - Big bathroom - enough space for everyone.

The online check in app sucks. Kept loosing my data; USA not listed as a passport issuing country. A/C not working. Noisy. The key pads to get in are difficult.. I received the code via What’s App, not Booking.com.

It felt weird that it is a self-check in service and there was no staff around. Felt a bit like a hounted house especially because it felt like I was the only person in the hostel.

No lockers No kitchen When people are being noisy in the hall, you can hear everything

Spacious room with enough space to put away luggage. Beds are comfy and don't make noise. Entering door goes easily with a badge There's not always somebody at the reception, but they answered very quick on Whatsapp.

The lift to get out is a bit annoying because you can only go with 1 person at the time. Normally It won't be a problem but this time I was with 7 other people so we had to wait to get everyone out.

The location is perfect and the host was very friendly. The beds are fine and the bathroom was clean. We were earlier at the destination (by bus), but the host was very nice to let us in earlier.

To open the door was a bit hard and annoying, bespecially when traveling with large baggage, but I guess safety first The terrace was closed unfortunately I booked 4 bed dorm, ended in an 8 bed alone, so also fine.

This is the second time i stayed there. And the same problem happened from the first time They take more than 30 minutes to open the door. And when i complained about it they said that they sent a code to do self check in, but thna they noticed that the forgot to send it. I also talked to 2 other guest that had the same problem. It seems to be recurrent

Great location for the city. We had 4 beds in our own room, clean and well equipped bathroom. Towels included. Helpful and warm welcome from the staff.

I had to pay extra to store my bike (2€), which wasnt the case 1 year ago and which is nowhere written in the policies, nor was it announced beforehand when I let the hostel know that I'm with a bike. There is mold on the curtains in the showers.

Location is great, unfortunately only fridge and microwave, no real kitchen (but lots of restaurants around)

There was no kitchen of any kind. Literally only a fridge and a microwave, no cutlery or plates, no water cooker. Advertised with a terrace, but that is not part of the hostel and actually really pricey. I only booked for having a terrace

I booked a bed in a 4p room, and they accommodated me in a 6p… The biggest issue is that there were only two outlets to charge your devices. So I had to leave the room and sit outside to charge my phone for a bit…

The location is amazing. Is right in the city center. The artwork on the staircase is beautiful!

sometimes the showers dont remember you are there and the light goes off and you need to wave for it to light up again

Clean beds and bedroom, location is very close to the history center and to the Queima das Fitas place, it is a very convenient place, the common rooms are very pretty with incredible lighting and paintures on the walls. The beds are comfy, they have lockers if you need to lock up any personal equipment and they also rent lockers. Staff is also very nice, he explaing everything bit by bit, and is very helpful
