How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The wi-fi was sometimes spotty.
Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had anywhere! Pools were amazing. Staff was wonderful.

Not many buts to give to be honest. For me the mattress felt slightly warm but did not keep me from having a very nice sleep all days. We are also not very friendly towards having air con on all the time. When we were trying to turn it off in the control panel it did not seem to go off, felt like the air stream was still working, but not totally sure. Maybe this should be made more clear.
Excellent hotel making our 5-night stay super relaxed and really pleasant. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast (e.g. watermelon tastes like real watermelon) and everything and everywhere is spotless clean. If you roam on the basement area of the hotel the gym and spa facilities will definitely keep you energized and relaxed, they are well equipped and very inviting. If you prefer to explore the top of the building you will find the roof pool which fully fulfils on any splashing and tanning cravings you might have. Would definitely stay on this hotel again.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The drinks at the bar were good and the fries were excellent! I would highly recommend the EPIC SANA LISBOA. We will return!

Not exactly abt the hotel but more the location: Was taking ubers so it looked like they had to do a u-turn on the other side of the highway to get to the property. Just need to allot a bit more time if you are waiting for an uber or bolt. With the hot weather, it's not comfortable to walk to the metro and also walking back is uphill.
Hotel has everything you need. The room is spacious and really appreciate the little touches like macarons upon check-in, chocolates by the bedside after room service cleanup. The spa looked really nice although I didn't get any massage aside from going to the pool, sauna, steam room. There's another pool on the rooftop but looked more crowded so I preferred the one on -2.

Pool area could possibly fit more sun beds or appropriate seating around the pool
Beautiful hotel, our room was to a really high standard and the touches by the hotel make it really special. It was my husband’s birthday which I had sent a note about in advance, on our return from a long day in Lisbon there was a bottle of Prosecco waiting wishing my husband a happy birthday ❤️

Sana's breakfeast is among the Best all over the world. Rooms are modern and comfy. Pools I dont use.

On a few occasions there was not space to sit at the pool which was a shame as we specifically chose the hotel for it's pool. Steam room was not very hot and not up to the remarkable standard of the rest of the hotel.
The hotel in general exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredible. So smiley, friendly and helpful. Hotel was spotlessly clean and felt very luxurious. Roof top pool was beautiful, staff so attentive and it felt very relaxing. Spa was lovely. We would 110% stay again.

No stocked mini bar in the room, had to call and order. Not enough complimentary tea and coffee (one bag of each kind) so we couldn’t both have the same tea. No milk for coffee either, but again not a major issue, struggled to think of one!
Everyone on the front desk was wonderful and so helpful, the hotel is beautiful with great facilities and the beds were really comfy!

Disliked nothing
Breakfast was extremely good, lots of options to choose from and the kitchen will provide anything not on display. Nothing was too much trouble. Located on a hill, be prepared for the walk!
