Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing to dislike! Great place to stay.
The facility was immaculately clean and well kept. There was a nice sitting room to come in and read and socialize if you wanted. Coffee and tea were always available in the dining room. The grounds were beautiful with the orchards. Weather was too cool to use the pool, but the location and setting looked great. The owners were very friendly and very attentive to our stay.

United KingdomMy only comment would be that the room didnt have air conditioning but had under floor cooling/heating system. The room was hard to cool down.
Everything was really nice, not just the pool and surroundings. We arrived quite late but this wasnt an issue and meet/greet was very friendly.

United KingdomNothing, nothing at all as it's spot on! Book it with confidence as Bridget and Bernard will see you right 👍
The setting and location of this place is great. Surrounded by rolling hills, fields and chirping birds. It's just a 15 minute walk into the centre of the village, it's perfect! It also gave us the comfiest bed I think I've ever slept in!

United KingdomI don’t usually right reviews but in this case, I felt the need to make the effort. We arrived in Portugal and made our way to the beautiful little village of Figueira Dos Vinhos. Being the low season (March), we did not know what to expect from our accommodation for the 4 nights of our visit so it was a relief to find that we had chosen what must be the best accommodation option in the region. Quinta do Sobral is owned and operated by a German couple Bridget and Bernard who have built a true oasis of natural beauty on their estate. The room we occupied was spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed with beautiful views across the estate’s woodland, vineyard, and olive grove from our window or the communal terrace. While the property itself is extremely beautiful it is the warmth and the offer of true friendship from the hosts that sets this place apart. Having decided to move from Germany to Portugal, Bridget (who speaks fluent English German and Portuguese) and Burnard have spent the last 17 years living and working in the village, becoming part of the local community, and providing much needed quality development and income for the area. If asked they also have a wealth of local knowledge that they are happy to share with their guests. I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay, but I think that if you are planning to visit this part of Portugal and want to stay somewhere truly unique then you should not miss the opportunity to stay at Quinta Do Sobral. I can assure you; you won’t be disappointed. This is not, and does not, pretend to be a 5-star Spa Hotel, so if you are looking for that type of experience you will need to head elsewhere, but if you are looking for a rural retreat with excellent service and the friendliest, most helpful hosts, I have ever had the pleasure of meeting then I cannot recommend it highly enough. It truly is a 5-star experience.

United KingdomBrigitte and Bernard are the perfect hosts. The quinta and surrounding estate are fantastic. Exceptionally welcoming with huge comfortable rooms with underfloor heating Lovely breakfast taken in the dining room. I stayed in November so didn't use the pool, however a summer stay in that setting would be fantastic. Very close to the wonderful Figueiro Dos Vinhos and a short drive to several River beaches. I will be returning in several weeks with my wife and look forward to meet Brigitte and Bernhard again Their greeting and care made me feel like a member of their family Thank you so much Paul

Costa RicaIt was perfect, nothing bad.
The place is amazing. The host made it perfect, she gave us our privacy but was there with advice if asked (amazing hiking recommendations and so many more if we only had time). She was lovely and got out of her way to make our stay as nice as possible. We checked-in very late due to a long drive and that was no problem at all. I loved the grounds of the villa, so green, serene, with all year round swimming pool of a good size for a proper swim! It is beautiful there. We had a car so we drove to the village (3min) or restaurant (8min), it is a walking distance but it is on a road without pedestrian space, so better to drive. The villa itself is beautiful, with a lovely pond, if I stayed for longer I would book the room on the ground floor, when you can sit in the garden and have your own outside space. Rooms are big! Bed is comfortable, everything is nicely fi ish with a bath!! to spoil yourself (I did). The area - so much to explore, from hikes through picturesque mountains and rivers, to charming villages through to swimming pools made at rivers and waterfals, amazing part of the world. Summer/swimming season is june-september (we were in April and it was too cold). I cannot imagine better place to stay to explore the area. Good breakfast too. Thank you to hosts for sharing their lovely piece of heaven!! Will definitely book again if im back in the area!
