How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

My room did not have natural light. The window faced a small opening outside in between buildings. Had to keep the light on when in the room and use aircon for more air exchange. However, didn’t care, as my stay was only to sleep and shower, as I was out all day exploring.
Staff friendly and professional. The location is perfect for exploring the bazaar and other main attractions. Room was a good size and clean. Roof terrace with a great view

The reason for coming to Istanbul is to celebrate my husband's birthday. I m grateful to the hotel staff for welcoming us with a cake. The staff is friendly, especially the owner of the hotel who gave us good suggestions for visiting Istanbul especially a shop with very good chocolate. The room was clean and comfortable, great location. We enjoyed staying at the hotel.

It was difficult for the taxi drivers to get through the street. But I think that is normal for all vehicles.
Staff members were very nice and helpful. It’s super cute and centrally located to neat sites.

All the staff were friendly & offered help readily with many things. Lift access...perfect Lovely views of the harbour & mosque from the glass enclosed roof terrace. Biggest seagulls in captivity. Good breakie

Nothing, it was excellent.
Amazing staff, very helpful. They gave me recommendations on where to eat and what to see and were very accommodating as I arrived prior to check in time. Free tea and coffee on the beautiful rooftop all day long. Breakfast was amazing and huge quantity. Location is very convenient and near to grand bazaar, sultanahmet and others.

The noise during the night you can hear walking, talking, water, toilets etc. earplugs are recommended.

The cost for a normal room is little high due to the neighbourhood.

Nothing. The check out was a very reasonable 12pm and the hotel happily looked after my bags for me.
From start to finish, my stay at Hotel Bronte was wonderful. They were in touch before I arrived to see if I needed a pick up from the airport - they arranged that and gave very clear instructions as to where to meet the driver. The rooms are very stylish and comfortable. Bathrooms were small but very clean and stocked with things you sometimes forget like cotton pads. Aside from the morning call to prayer (something you get across Istanbul), I slept really well with none of the distractions of city noise you can get in some areas. The breakfast was an absolute feast - you go to the upstairs terrace where you can watch the ships come in and the minarets of the Blue Mosque beckon you, meanwhile someone is busy preparing you a tray of delights (fried eggs, a little plate of chips, a selection of cheeses, chopped vegetables, bread and jams, and other items that changed daily). While there is no evening meal available at the hotel, there are places to eat in the area and the hotel gave me a couple of great recommendations based on reviews and new finds by previous guests. The area itself is very safe, even if it feels a little rundown in places compared to areas like Galata. I had no problems walking back to the hotel after dinner, even when I got myself a little lost down the side streets!

Hotel Bronte has INCREDIBLE views of the Bosphurus, and the breakfast was fabulous and filling. The staff are extremely helpful, kind and considerate. The accomodation was beautifully decorated!

Room and bathroom was very clean and spacious, they provided everything including earbuds, cotton and hair dryer which I really liked. You can easily walk to grand bazaar, blue mosque and Hagia Sophia mosque and other places. The best thing was staff who were super sweet, welcoming and really helpful. 10/10 for hospitality. Would love o come again 😇
