Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyUnpleasant smell in the bathroom probably coming from the sewage!
Perfect location to reach various points in the Eminönü area and in the Ahmet and Aya Sophia district. Good breakfast with Turkish traditional fresh food. The room was very small and only had one wardrobe to store clothes, which for two or three people is not enough especially if you are staying for 1 week.

JamaicaBecause of a difference of culture it would be unfair for me to say I didn't like something.
I am Jamaican 🇯🇲, so I would say a Turkish style breakfast was adequate.

SerbiaThis has nothing to do with the hotel, but there was construction going on right next to the hotel. We couldn't hear anything inside the rooms though. Satellite TV is limited in the number of unlocked channels so we listened to the radio mostly. For example, popular international channels are locked. The kitchen could offer more breakfast options but overall not too bad.
The staff are amazing and welcoming. I requested a room with a balcony and they gave me one. Great value for money. Amazing location, right in the center of downtown. Well connected with public transport. The breakfast was pretty good. Comfy beds. Clean rooms. Quiet location.

United KingdomThere is not enough lighting in the room/bathroom. The window didn't close properly, so it was noisy from the outside.
Very good location, just a short walk from both Mosques. The room was pretty big, and warm. The window didn't close properly so was a little noisy from the outside. Also would need more lighting in the room/bathroom. Big selection of breakfast sweet and savoury. Besides that I think it was a good value.

United KingdomI had two rooms and one of the room 205 had strong sewerage smell. Luckily I was there for three days and only to sleep at night, checked in at 1am. It was not coming from outside but inside the property and staff just dragged it knowing I am there for a short stay. Morning and evening staff each put it on each other and saying we may offer you another room and last night I tested them and they said oh hotel is fully booked which was not the case then next morning the staff said why didn’t they give you new room yesterday. I felt disrespected because of their treatment more than the room situation. Otherwise on day to day they were fine. Value for money but should worth the money was not the case in my situation and I was worried about my health impact.
Location as closer to most tourist points in Sultan Ahmet area. It was clean. Staff is friendly. Value for money.

United KingdomWhile the absence of an iron in my room was a drawback, the hotel did offer a dedicated ironing room downstairs. It would have been more convenient to have one in the room, but the provided facility served its purpose.
I highly recommend Edibe Sultan Hotel! It's a charming, compact hotel just a 5-minute stroll from Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque in Sultanahmet. With a tram station a minute away and numerous shops nearby, its location is ideal. The hotel exudes warmth, cleanliness, and an overall pleasant atmosphere. Don't miss out on the breakfast. For those looking for value for money, this is a top choice.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaNamještaj u hotelu je dotrajao, ali su kreveti jos uvijek udobni.
Lokacija je na vrlo mirnom mjestu, a u centru si svih aktivnosti. 1 minut tramvajska stanica, jos 2 mintuta Sultanahmet i Ajasofija. Svaki dan smo imali ciscenje sobe i nove peskire. Dorucak raznovrstan, vise nego dovoljna i raznovrsna ponuda. Osoblje hotela se jako trudi da ugodi svakom gostu.

United KingdomThe breakfast does not have much variety if you have allergies. Nothing near the food to tell you what it is and what is in there. Staff do not speak or understand English, so it is hard to communicate at times. I requested 2 single beds, and we got one double bed instead, and the hotel stated it on a first come first bases. The hotel has construction going on, so we do not need an alarm clock as the noise will wake you up. Even though the location is fantastic, the night noise can last to about 1.30am to around 2am. One iron for the whole hotel is to make sure you iron all your clothes beforehand.
The hotel is amazing for location. You can get transport to any destination from the hotel.

NetherlandsOriginal price of around 350 EUR per night suggested a top class hotel. The quality of the hotel was more in agreement with the discounted price of around 70 EUR per night. The breakfast contained a lot of turkish savouries but no good muesli-like products. Instead of juices there were too sweet lemonades..
location very close to the large attractions in Istanbul and an ideal place to start holidays in Istanbul.
