Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyEverything was good for our stay in Istanbul. The position near the Galata Tower is perfect for discovering the city. Near a lot of restaurants and other hotels. Felt safety as there is police everywhere. The breakfast was on point, we loved it! Staff really polite, available 24h and really helpful in case of something. I recommend this hotel!

GreeceThe bathroom is built-in with plastic. Breakfast is served at a cafe close to the hotel and is very simple.
Location is excellent, next to Galata tower and metro station. The guests are very friendly and helped us with the mistake I made in the reservation. The buidling is old so there is no lift, but this was not an issue for us. The room is small but fully furnished and cleaned daily.

HungaryWe had three rooms for in total 6 people so below I will share our experience. We were located at 1,2nd and 4th floor Each room had its own problems: smell, cold or super noise and weak windows, toilet flush problem Someone was smoking sometimes in the building and the smell went inside the room Not sure why the taxi offered by the hotel was with the double amount. you can order much cheaper via the taxi apps or via booking itself
The hotel is located next to Galata tower and has entrance from the Main Street. As the hotel is located next to a Main Street with many food places it was very noise each night until late night - if you travel with children or super sensitive to noise during the night, then consider it. We chose the breakfast option and the place was 5 minutes by walk from the hotel and had very simple but tasty breakfast The towels and the trash beans were cleaned each day. The hotel has a rooftop ( u can check the view if you want) Regarding the reception, all 3 guys were very nice, helpful and kind

RussiaStrange hotel- old building with designer rooms, but the bathroom is built-in the room, just plastic almost transparent walls. No elevator. Noisy street. Poor breakfast (omelet and coffee).
The only good thing is location-right in front of Galata tower. The personnel is helpful. Comfortable bed.

FranceWe don't know if the hotel is non-smoking, but at night there was a very strong smell, coming from the corridor, we supposed the origin in another room. Not a real problem for us, but if you come with kids, you need to ask before.
Hotel very well placed, just near the famous Galata tower. Everything was perfect, easy to come (metro just near the hotel), Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Room and bathroom were clean. En décembre, la rue était très calme la nuit.

CyprusI was staying on the 4th floor, and the lack of an elevator made things difficult! The built-in bathroom, which is on a raised level, is taking space from the square shaped room, and at some point its corner almost touches the edge of the double bed! For a room like that, maybe a smaller bed would be more suitable, in order to leave enough circulation area! Staying in the Galata Tower area also has its negative aspect, coz you are half way up (or down) the Galata hill, which means you always have to either climb up or down!
The hotel is situated next to Galata Tower, which is one of the main attractions of Istanbul, in a very vibrant area, full of shops, restaurants and cafés! The Staff were very helpful and always ready to assist, 24 hours a day, especially Cessim and Samir, who were even ready to carry things for me! Breakfast was served as room service, whenever asked for in the morning! The built-in bathroom was comfortable and clean, same as the whole room!

SerbiaThe location is great, but if you have a room with a street view, expect it to be noisy. The bathroom has no ventilation or window, so you can feel the humidity a little. Breakfast is cold and enough. Bed uncomfortable. Sofa bed impossible to sleep on.
Location and very friendly staff.

New ZealandOnly problem was the breakfast which was advertised on the site. I arrived and asked about it and was told would be bought to my room in the morning. Gave up at 9.45 and went to breakfast in restaurant downstairs, told I needed vouchers, so went upstairs and given 2, have to restaurant, they bought 2 breakfasts. Told next morning would be bought to room, left at 9 to catch hop on hop off bus, hungry, didn't even as last day. A big selling point to taste local food but not delivered.
Was comfortable, clean etc. Loved being near the Galata tower and the people.

SwitzerlandThe "free breakfast" in the restaurant next door didn't include coffee (according to them because they just immediately brought me out a tea). I was happy to pay for it but they charged me 150 Turkish Lira for 1 coffee or £4.27/4.92€/$5.28. This is daylight robbery in Istanbul (to give you an idea, I don't even drink at Starbucks but you can get coffee at Starbucks between 60-90 lira and we all know they're on the expensive side). This put a very sour taste in my mouth and meant I only went that one time. In local cafes I spent as little as 25 lira on coffee... Actually, avoid most restaurants on that strip (easily coming to 550 lira for a tiny basic wrap, salad and coke, this is A LOT for Istanbul) I ate at some lovely little places that seemed genuine off the main streets though and a lot of local vendors were gracious enough to sell water bottles at 3-7 lira. Don't get sucked into inflated prices.
Peaceful little room with a huge bathroom and shower ensuite up quite a lot of steep stairs! 24hr Reception was attentive and helpful. This is a cheap room and so the little things aren't there (towel hooks, cotton bedsheets, view -I overlooked a parking lot, but I didn't mind as I just needed a room to sleep in). Absolutely good value for money.
