Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe Hotel is conveniently located in a lane near the Basilica of St John. It is easy to find using Waze or Google Maps. The building has been very well constructed by joining three old buildings together in a harmonious way. The rooms are around a walled Courtyard on two levels and are delightfully decorated with antique furniture and tiles from the shop owned by the two owners of the Hotel. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with lots of fresh fruit and eggs if you so wished. A bonus was the offer of a free shuttle to and from Ephasus. The two owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel for someone who does not want to stay in a modern one.

Very good location, within 5 minutes walk to St John church, within 10 minutes walk to bus station, less than 10 minutes drive to Ephesus. The property is very nice and quiet, pretty. The boss would give a ride to Ephesus, the breakfast is super, fresh fruit are delicious. Everything is good about this property.

ItalyThe rooms are a bit small.
The traditional style makes this hotel a little gem. Nazmi, the owner, is a great host, friendly and he loves to chit chat. He brought us to Efes site and he came to pick us after the tour for free. Breakfast in the garden is a must, as a must is Ergul the lady who helps at the hotel. She makes the best lentils soup!

United StatesOnly one minor thing. There was no kettle or coffee cups. It would have been lovely to have an early morning coffee- we wake about 6 am, but breakfast starts at 8- or evening tea while sitting on the balcony. That said, I'd definitely stay here again!
The hotel is lovely, situated just 3 blocks from St John's Basilica and near downtown & the inter city bus station. Our room was really pretty, the beds were comfortable & it overlooked the valley. The breakfast was excellent, eaten in the lovely courtyard. The hosts were such lovely people! They drove us to Ephesus & picked us up 3 hrs later.

The room is so clean, the courtyard so beautiful, convenient located near many attractions. The owners are so nice and helpful, we left our credit card at nearby restaurant, and realized the next day, we contacted the owner, he went to the restaurant and got our card back. We are really appreciated.

United StatesWe had a wonderful stay at this quaint hotel. The staff was both kind and accomodating. Our host Nazmi regaled us with stories of the area and his tribe. He generously shuttled us to various archaeological sites. And then we ended our stay in our hosts' carpet shop; this was an eucational and enriching experience all around. Finally, our hosts arranged a private taxi to our next stop, Izmer. A tremendous stay!

AustraliaLittle things like not providing water (we had to pay for it) and no glasses in the room. No power points on both sides of the bed - we had to unplug the lights
Good size room, although a little noisy with the window open. Good location and an excellent breakfast. We really appreciated the lift to Ephesus which the owner provides.

Location is very near St. jean's church (300m) and Ephesus church is 5 min driving. Their garden is beautiful. It's a pity that we don't have time to enjoy eating in the garden. The owner is nice and friendly and speaks English so well and very care. I left my cell phone charger at this accommodation. I called and the owner mailed the Charger to my location. All my family say that the breakfast and melon eaten here are the most special melons they have ever eaten.

The owner and other staff were very helpful and welcoming. The location was great to get to places and to find excellent restaurants in walking distance. Healthy and plentiful breakfast was served. It was a quiet and comfortable location. Appreciated the chairs outside the room for a sitting area. Loved having extra pillows available in the room.
