When we arrived, our first room unfortunately had a broken heat pump. We didn’t realize that it was broken, just thought the room was taking a while to heat up. But at night it was a problem.. when it was 40 degrees out! The hotel gave us another room, one nicer than what we had reserved but at our original rate, and helped us switch between rooms quickly.

the breakfast is quite possibly one of the most incredible things about this hotel. They provide it with your reservation, and it is cooked for you, offered in the room or at a beautiful outdoor courtyard on property with a fireplace. The staff was very helpful, and offered amenities like free rides up the hill to the center of town. This hotel is down by the beach, just a block away, which is why I chose to stay here vs 6 blocks up hill in the center of town. It is quiet, private, a nice sanctuary. they place a lot of emphasis on their spa and the bathrooms. Those latter are amazing, each (I believe) has a tub with bath salts, etc, plus robes, slippers. I did not try the spa, but it seemed to be a destination for many of those staying there. (We were there in the offseason, February). The hotel’s food is quite good too although we only had snacks and a couple drinks at their bar. I believe the rates are a good value, for what you receive.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nicely decorated and quiet room with all the amenities. In-room breakfast service was excellent. Fairly easy walk to downtown Carmel and beach area but there is a free hotel limousine service available when needed.

The breakfast was relatively poor for the quality of the hotel. In addition, there was an extra charge for the coffee (espeso or capuccino), a fact which I found annoying, since the price of the breakfast could have easily included it. I am positive that such minor issues will be addressed from the hotel management. The rooms are comfy & new, however the sound insulation between the upper & lower rooms was not excellent.

The area of the hotel is excellent, close to the beach and a 12 minute walk from the center. The hotel has opened a couple of months ago after a complete renovation. I strongly recommend it when visiting Carmel by the Sea.

I loved everything

Service and food were exceptional, everything has been recently renovated and is super comfortable. I was able to work remotely from the hotel and enjoy Carmel later in the day, with the beach just 1min away. The hotel is brand new and I can’t recommend it enough!

The hotel offered a shuttle service. They did not pick us up when they said they would. After 12 attempts to call the hotel they finally answered and resolved with no apologies given.

Put in room 14 next to the kitchen so was woken at 5:45am with banging and crashing coming through the wall by the bed headboard. The TV in the room is behind a wall from the bed so couldn’t watch from bed. They changed our room for our second night but we had to check out and wait so were without a room for 4 hours. The 2nd room was smaller too. The wardrobe light is on a motion sensor but it kept going on and off throughout the night randomly. No ironing facilities in the room or available to borrow. The did get house keeping to iron for me but really not ideal The reception staff were not reliable or empathetic - told they would call me and didn’t - had to chase things up multiple times. The TV system is very limited with few channels, no internet apps (Netflix etc) and the casting didn’t work. Signage to reception was small and hidden by parked cars.

The property is clean and new. In a fantastic location so close to the beach and a short drive from the shops. Parking is easy and close. The staff around the facility were nice and helpful especially at breakfast and housekeeping.
