Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe didn't like that the guests have to operate the hot tub so, we didn't use it. Not sure if this is a standard for boutique hotels though.
We liked that location is about 2 blocks to the main hub of eating, shopping, attractions, and transit to other mountains. David and Florencia are very accommodating hosts who granted all requests and shared insightful information which enhanced our stay.

United StatesThe rooms were rather small.
Great location! 3 blocks from the gondola and all the restaurants. Nicely renovated and had everything you need. It was nice that they had breakfast in the morning too. Was great to have a hot tub and the staff was super nice and helpful.

United StatesEverything was great!!
Fantastic location right in the heart of town approximately 3 blocks walking distance to the main Ajax gondola (even closer to nearest chairlift) and everything in downtown Aspen, including the free town bus to the other 3 “Aspen” ski resorts 1.5 blocks away. It has the feel of a small boutique in with extremely friendly staff, tastefully updated “mountain modern” decor, and a nice free continental breakfast too. In retrospect I’m very surprised by some of the negative reviews and assume those guests expected a Ritz experience at a ski bum price or that more recent management and room updates are a reason we enjoyed a perfect stay. All said, this place is a hidden gem for those seeking a great location and value in an otherwise ultra expensive town. Looking forward to returning as our new go-to spot in town!!

United StatesMy only knock on our stay was the size of our room, It was pretty tight as was the bathroom. We had a queen setup that was positioned with little to no room between the bed and the side walls.
The overall feel of the hotel was great, The lobby was very welcoming and the desk staff were very helpful and friendly, We felt like we were staying at a bed and breakfast. I would highly recommend and without a doubt would stay again!

United StatesWell, the rooms are a bit on the small side, but so what! And no elevator to the 3rd floor, but that didn’t bother us at all (we had offers to help with bags). These drawbacks were like nothing to us given how wonderful Hotel Durant is.
Hotel Durant was a great find for us! Cozy, about 20 rooms, very friendly staff & ownership, on the free bus line to Snowmass, only a ten minute walk to anywhere in Aspen, a well laid out & tasty Continental breakfast & coffee, comfy friendly lounge with fireplace, lots of interesting guest mates from all over the world…in short, an inn with great lodging karma!!

United StatesEmailed to extend booking two weeks in advance,, was told only way was to make a new booking through a travel website for the extra day. They assure me they’d keep me in the same room but after my first night, when I was completely unpacked, the front desk told me I had to move from the third floor down to the basement for my final 3 nights. No elevator, so it was a bit painful to repeal and walk my bags down the stairs.
Very comfortable, great it comes with breakfast, extremely well located. Held us out in a pinch with some travel logistics.

United StatesOur room was tiny, which would be fine except that the bed was wedges between the walls on one end and it was cumbersome to get in & out of bed with the walls just a few inches away on each side. We are small people, it would be nearly impossible to manage for tall / large adults.
Stylish, minimalist decor; good breakfasts, great location; cozy. A great find in Aspen.

United StatesLoved everything about our stay except the location and view of our room. I understand that we paid for a basic room on the bottom floor but given the low occupancy of our one night stay, it would have been nice to have been located in a room not looking at an hvac unit on the building next door.

United StatesOddly enough, the location of bed in room made it difficult to get in and out of it easily/safely—definitely less than a foot of space on either side. Continental breakfast was fine, but the hot water spigot was not very hot to cook instant oatmeal. No microwave to heat up food. Front desk employee wasn’t particularly friendly/engaging w guests which was too bad.
Quiet and clean hotel located in a quiet neighborhood within an easy walking distance to center of town/hiking trials. Bedding and bed was comfortable. Nice deck w table and chair off room with pretty view of mountain.

United StatesWe had a room near staircase which was noisy late at night a couple nights. The hotel might post a simple notice downstairs reminding those returning late at night to be mindful of sleeping guests.
Breakfast was good continental breakfast. Excellent location just 3 blocks from Aspen Mntn, one block from bus stop for other ski areas, Snowmass, etc
