Great location - good rooms but for the price paid it would be nice if they offered some basic amenities.

Shame about the metal plates in the street outside, clanking for every car. But not much the freehand can do about that.

Excellent location, quirky fun decor, very comfortable.

The room they gave us was much smaller and very different than the one on booking.com! It had a wall in front of the bed( unlike the picture) and my son who happens to be very tall had his feet touching the wall

I liked that when I complained that the room was very small and not at all like the picture they showed on booking.com they immediately changed the room and gave me a bigger one! I appreciated it a lot

Most of staff seemed like even very limited interaction was a chore. Bathrooms tiny even by NY standards. No in room coffee or room service a bit of a negative.

Price, location, general vibe. Great value for a hotel that is not a generic cookie-cutter hotel. Location is great if you're comfortable with the subway which you should be!

If you like bright rooms not for you because our room didn’t not have many lights so it was in the darker side. Worst thing was every time we walked into our room it smelled like sewage so we had to leave the window cracked our whole stay or else it was unbearable. So if your looking at this place or spending a few extra dollars somewhere else I’d suggest somewhere else if you don’t want to smell sewage.

    Comfortable bed, nice staff

There was a lot of noise outside, due to construction and traffic. If the windows were double paned and could cancel the noise outside, that would have made our sleep a bit better

The location was fantastic! The hotel itself is also spectacular, with character, bars chillout areas and restaurants. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating

shower wasn't draining well, and we asked for someone to look at it and it didn't change anything until my husband pulled out the tub stopper completely as it seemed to be the issue. Just feel like this should have been checked over prior to anyone staying in the room. Also lighting in bathroom area was not the best and made getting ready to go out a little more challenging. I think a simple plug in magnified mirror/light combo could easily be mounted on the bathroom wall and would be great for anyone who wants to apply makeup.

Loved the coffee shop on main floor and great gym considering the size of the hotel. Also location was great, very centrally located to all the places we wanted to go.

Small rooms, bars are not open on Sundays

Location, staff, unique style, can leave luggage until check in time or after check out. Late check out compared to other hotels.

The notes others have left regarding the noise are totally accurate and luckily we were prepared with white noise solutions. The hotel would be smart to provide white noise machines in each room. Noise from the street and construction were an issue, but also the walls are thin and you can hear noise from the hallway. We were also prepared for the dark/small bathrooms and I bought a travel lighted makeup mirror which was a godsend. It would have been nearly impossible to get my makeup done well without it, as the room was really dark. They should really amp up the lighting in the bathrooms. Note, the sink is SO small, it was not possible to wash your face in the sink without getting the bathroom soaked. Beds and pillows were fine, definitely could use an upgrade at some point. Another suggestion I'd have would be a self serve coffee/tea station for guests so we don't have to go to the street level each morning and buy coffees- there are spaces on the second floor lounge that would be perfect for this, and it felt a little overwhelming to have to face the public before fully waking up in the morning.

Loved this stylish property and felt very welcomed by the staff! This property offers a great value- it's not a luxury hotel, but it does the trick, and was a great solution for a small group of friends. It worked well as a crash pad since we were out and about most of the day. We appreciated the hair dryer, steamer, bath robes in the room- and housekeeping did a great job. The lounge area on L2 was really pretty and would work well for remote working if needed. We liked the on site bar as well, although the team there wasn't particularly friendly (in particular, the DJ they had was kind of rude and didn't seem like he wanted to be there, but whatever!). Location was convenient and safe, close to transit and walkable to great neighborhoods. I'm pretty particular and was overall really happy with the value of this hotel and the welcoming/friendly staff.

Travelling from the UK, we're up early and would have been good to be able to make or get a coffee before the cafe opened at 7.00 am. There is a 24 hour deli across the street, but would have been preferable not to have to go outside at 5.30.

Really nice cool hotel, great residential neighbourhood but convenient to everywhere we needed to be. On site restaurant, cafe and bars, (independently operated) were excellent.

I don’t think I realised how big the hotel was (which is my bad) and that it has five bars. Not that it caused any issue, I suppose it was just a little impersonal. We had our daughter with us and there was no where for us to chill out.

Really well located. Close to subway. Lots of places for breakfast.

Front desk staff look like they'd rather be elsewhere. Not the best reception. Housekeeping staff lovely though! Lots of little things: Plugs really loose in sockets, so had to weigh them down to use things like the hairdryer, the wood panelling in the rooms is starting to show wear and tear so makes you wonder about its hygiene. Phone didn't work to call reception. Asked for a kettle, which came swiftly, but no cups. When requested got given paper cups + plastic utensils - did the job but basic. Weirdly the TV stations don't match the menu. Sound carried easily through the vents between the bathroom to the next room. And a square wooden bin seemed like a weird choice to keep clean...

The location is superb, right in the middle of things. Easy to walk downtown, 30 mins to The Whitney or High Line. Easy access to 23rd Street subway station. The roof top terrace and bar has a fabulous view. The shower was strong and towels and sheets fresh. The King room size was good, allowing enough room for a yoga mat, a bonus for a city location.

At arrival, one of the elevators didn’t move. The room with one single bed was largely over-priced compared to the comfort you can get for the same price in other hotels.

Water pressure !!! This property proved that you do not need to suffer of lacking pressure and alternating hot/cold/hot in showers like is a common problem in more recently constructed buildings. Kind of interesting old style mimicking interiors, like a hotel room from the 50s.

At the moment (May 2024) noise because of construction around the hotel, which is not the hotels fault.

There was a continuous noise of water flowing behind the wall; we couldn't understand if it was the hotel pump or the position of our room, the first one after the elevator. It ended up being a kind of white noise, so it was not too annoying, but still... Except for that, it was a good experience.

The location is perfect to walk around and move with the subway. The atmosphere is romantic. The staff was very helpful and kind. The room is big enough for New York standards, and the bed is very comfortable.
