Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI was asked to change rooms after 2 weeks because I was not taking room service despite me being out to work every day and keeping the room clean myself. I am in between apartments so other than staying a motel, life continues as normal.
I had a fridge and coffee maker in the room. Also, there was a safe large enough for my laptop :) And last but not least, having an Aldi near by made it very convenient.

SpainClose to the highway so it is a bit noisy at night, we needed earplugs to sleep. Probably better on the other side of the hotel. The room was clean but whenever we got new towels, these would have hair (assume that came from the cleaning service). Breakfast included is a bag with water, bagel with cheese, granola bar and a piece of fruit. Also, it is possible to get coffee and juice there.
Good option pricewise if staying in Manhattan is too expensive. Location is not super good, but there is a shuttle for 3,50$ that stops at the hotel when going to New York. It takes around 20' depending on the traffic and the last stop is Port Authority bus station. The hotel will tell you other alternatives for returning to the hotel (shuttle until 10pm and bus until 1am), but it is possible to take the shuttle beyond 10pm on the street (by Microsoft's building).

United StatesThey ask to photocopy your credit card, and won’t accept cards without a clear number on them (i.e. they don’t accept Apple titanium cards). Room definitely could’ve been cleaner, and normal sized pillows would be nice.
Very affordable for NYC area, especially if you need to book multiple rooms. Facilities were modest but generally satisfactory.

ChileThe staff wasn't that much helpful and they didn't have someone that spoke Spanish, it's a very tourist are and there where many Spanish speaking guests. They charged for keeping your bags after check out (10 usd) in total. It doesn't have an elevator, which is uncomfortable for a stay with big bags.
The room was big and had a very useful space for clothing and a safe box, aside from the microwave, coffee machine and mini fridge. It was always clean. Sometimes the bus would stop right next to the hotel to pick us up, but either way the New Jersey to Manhattan bus stop was very close, so was the Manhattan to New Jersey one. I recommend taking the paid in cash one (3.5 USD).there is also an Aldi and a Dollar Tree near to the hotel (and the bus stop)

SwitzerlandWhile the hotel is near the center of Manhattan, the only option for commuting is a sketchy shuttle bus. They charge slightly different every time, and of course you depend on traffic. Of course this is criticism to the bus not the hotel. A bag with a bottle of water and crackers is not really breakfast.
Very good value, big and clean rooms.

The hotel is directly at the Tunnel to Manhattan. It only takes about 15 minutes to cross.

Germanyit was a sketchy location, not many houses/people around, next to the high way so pretty noisy, the buses would run to NY city but schedules were sometimes incorrect what made it difficult to come back to the hotel in the evening. Toilet was really loud, you could here it from other rooms too
The room was cleaned every day, toiletries provided , there were many amenities (iron, hair dryer, coffee machine, safe, tv, microwave, fridge, heating)

CanadaMy room this time (#123) was too close to the highway, lot of noise. but also, the breakfast used to be super good and now is HORRIBLE!!! They should not write that breakfast is included because it is not a breakfast. Before, they had yogourt, toast, pancakes, etc. Now, it's a little brown bag with twinkies, granola bar and if lucky, one fruit.
Ive been to this hotel many times. the location is the best part. with the shuttle, takes 20 minutes to get to times square. we also always enjoyed the breakfast.

Germany-Walls are rather thin. Sex noises are VERY good to hear. Keep this in mind when travelling with kids. -Toilet is somehow too "powerful" and therefore spills water after flushing. Recommendation: Do not flush until reaching a safe distance ;) -Breakfast is truely not worth mentioning nor calling it "Super Breakfast". It contains a plain bagle, a small portion of philadelphia cheese, a small orange and a nut bar. I would like to see this be returned to the breakfast for which there is all equipment still in place.
-Value for money AWESOME for NYC tourism. -Room with two queen size beds is spacy. -Air conditioning works good. -Additional building (where we were located) is far from the highway and therefore pleasantly quiet. -Room is in a nice condition.
