Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsFloor creaked a bit when someone was walking around on the landing above. Otherwise no complaints.
Really nice neighbourhood and owner of the guesthouse. The rooms as well as the front door were accessible via a code given to us by the owner. Nice big beds, quiet A/C, modern bathroom. A cosy common area with drinks and snacks provided for free, coffee machine and breakfast pastries and fruit. Perfect for a short stay in Washington.

United States of AmericaIf I had to be picky, it's near a few bus stops but it's not close to the metro (none of Georgetown is), and the main area of Georgetown is about a 10-15 minute walk.
Nico and the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly, the place itself was very cute and quaint. The outdoor space was lovely (we even saw a bunny). I was able to use a pack n play the hotel had (with an added mattress), and I had diapers delivered prior to my arrival, it worked out great.

United States of AmericaBooking through corp. travel, I expected a 'hotel' experience and was surprised by the self check-in. The difference between very good and great would have been a deadbolt on the door. Without there being 24 hour staff, as a single traveler, I didn't like that there wasn't a chain or other lock to secure the door.
Loved the facility and comfort, location in quiet part of Georgetown was great

The Poppy is absolutely lovely and we fell in love with it! It feels like home, and there’s a camaraderie with the other guests that really makes it feel like the Poppy Community - where everyone is in the know about how special this place is. The Parlor is warm and inviting and the decor is fabulous. The Poppy mugs are adorable. The outdoor patios offer a beautiful retreat, and are heated with patio heaters and fire pits. The owners are incredible, so personable, and went the extra mile to ensure we had a memorable stay. Lastly, Georgetown is the most beautiful part of DC, safe quaint and historical. We were able to get anywhere in DC within 20 minutes. A+++ 10/10.

GermanyBefore we even arrived, communication from Nico exceeded all expectations. The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious with a gorgeous view over the garden. There were all the amenities imaginable in the closet downstairs (irons, toiletries, extra towels, etc), and the kitchen was stocked with quite a few items as well. Every member of the staff that we met was helpful and friendly, and it felt genuine too. Obviously, the location is very hard to beat, but though it's absolutely great, - everything else was even better.

United States of AmericaThere wasn’t one thing.
The room was spacious and contemporary. There was a nearby “borrow closet” that was well-stocked with extras like make-up mirrors and curling irons. The garden area looked inviting and except for the temperature in January along with the snow I would have spent time outside. I hope to return soon.

United States of AmericaParking in the street is $5 for 2hrs. There is parking for $22 a day but it’s several blocks away. The pillows were hard which I do not like but that is just personal preference.
The staff was so personable. The location was great and the hotel is cute in a beautiful neighborhood. Convenient to train.
